Hello everyone. I was attempting to send an email out to all of the
members of our group and I inadvertently deleted everybody. Please
sign up again. It costs nothing and I appologize for the mess up.

Wow. I've been here for hours reading posts, looking at pics. I
can't believe I found this. So many names I remember: Anne Clark,
Pam Doran, Billy Wray (I had a major crush on him), Molly Minor, Dave
Ramos, Barb Roush, Pam Pearce, and Jeanne and Larry Turcotte. Some
rode the same bus ... either Sartrouville or Maison Lafitte. I'm sure
most won't remember me ... I was pretty quiet back in those days.
I've had a brat site (needs updating) for a number of years, if anyone
wants to take a peek.

Jeff,
I'd be interested in a reunion next year. There is a
group of us from the classes of 67 thru 69 who get
together frequently in the DC area, and I'm sure they
would be interested as well: Sue Tanner, Stevie
Shaefer, Joan Studer, Molly Minor, Madeline Aileo,
M'liss McCuskey, and myself.

Our fellow alum, Kathy OLIN Walker, passed away earlier this month of
as yet undetermined causes. Kathy was a wonderful classmate who (for
me) became a great friend in the years after graduation. Whenever I
passed through DFW we'd always at least talk to one another, if not
go out for a meal. I last saw her at our Paris 2000 reunion where
she, like all of us there, was having the time of her life.
Kathy's sister, Karen OLIN Manno '68, shared the following:
"My sister Kathy OLIN Walker passed away we think in early July... we
are still not sure what caused her death, but she missed two flights
for work and was found lying across her bed in her uniform. She had
Addison's Disease and it may have been a complication of that.
"The last time we talked to her was the end of June and, though she
was tired, she joked and sounded great especially excited about
seeing her first grandchild again at the end of July, May Barwick,
who was born in February.
"She is being flown to Raleigh, North Carolina sometime this week and
we'll bury her probably early next week. Her daughter Jennifer will
be placing an obituary soon in the Dallas and Raleigh newspapers as
soon as we finalize arrangements.
"She was devoted to her Paris friends and rarely missed a reunion.
The family is devastated is all I can say. She was a wonderful sister.
"If you talk to anyone who asks about her, please pass on my email
address (kmanno@...), home address: 707 Arguello Blvd, Apt 206,
San Francisco, CA 94118, and phone numbers (415) 845.6055 (cell
phone), (415) 668.7205."
Kathy's funeral will be held Thursday, July 24th, 10 AM at Oakwood
Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.
If anyone wants to send notes to the family, the addresses are:
Col. & Mrs. W.S. Olin (parents)
218 Ash Ave.
Melbourne Beach, FL 32951
Karen OLIN Manno (sister)
707 Arguello Blvd. Apt. 206
San Francisco, CA 94118
Jennifer Barwick (daughter)
26 Bagwell Ave.
Raleigh, NC 26706
An account in Kathy's memory for the benefit of her granddaughter,
May Barwick has been set up by the PAHS alums. You may send
contributions to:
David S. Berlin
Merrill Lynch
999 Waterside Dr. Suite 1100
Norfolk, VA 23510
Checks should be made payable to David Burlin, ref. Acct. # 755 99007
(for benefit of Kathy OLIN Walker). Call Dave with any questions at

Please remember Kathy and her family in your prayers.

Hello everyone. Just wanted to remind you that our site is still up

Everyone,
The January 2003 PIRATE'S LOG is now available for download. Please
go to
http://www.coastside.net/mikek/PAHS/
and click on the link for the format you prefer. We offer the LOG in
either Adobe Acrobat format (PDF file) or Microsoft Word Rich Text
Format (RTF file).
We encourage everyone who is email-equipped to download their LOG, as
it saves us printing and postage costs, and keeps Bev TYLER's tongue
from drying out. We will not postal-mail a LOG to any PAHS emailer
unless they specifically request we do so. If you still wish a
postal-mailed LOG, please email me. Be sure that we have your
current postal mail address.
Postal-mailed LOGs will go out during January.

Everyone,
Yahoo! has once again implemented a feature that could compromise
your privacy while using its services.
Yahoo! is tracking the web activities of users of their sites. In
this case, it is the identification of your computer, not your email
address or you as a person, that is being tracked.
Yahoo!'s "web beacons" (pixel tracking) are tracking Yahoo Group
users around the net. They're similar to cookies, but they track a
particular browser rather than a user.
Go to the following link:
http://privacy.yahoo.com/privacy/us/pixels/details.html
If you don't want to be tracked, go half-way down the page. In the
section "Outside the Yahoo! Network", you'll see a little "click
here" link that will let you opt-out of their new method of snooping.
Once you have clicked that link, you are opted out. Notice
the "Success" message at the top of the next page. Be careful because
on that page there is a "Cancel Opt-out" button that, if clicked,
will *undo* the opt-out.
Sneaky SOBs.

Everyone,
Reunion Poll
This is an INFORMAL, NON-BINDING poll concerning future PAHS reunions.

treated as confidential unless you state otherwise.

* Write your answer to any or all of the below questions next to or
below the question.

prefer we have this reunion:

b. In 2005?
c. Some other year? (which one?)
2. When would you prefer we have the next stateside PAHS reunion:
a. In 2004?
b. In 2005?
c. In 2006?
d. Some other year? (which one?)
3. Where would you prefer we hold the next reunion:
a. In the DC area?
b. Someplace else? (where?)
4. Any other suggestions or comments about PAHS reunions you'd like
to share?
Thank you very much for any input you can give us!

Everyone,
Call For PIRATES LOG Input
We will publish a holiday edition of the PIRATES LOG in December or
January and we're looking for your input. Please send anything you
think might interest your fellow PAHS alums to LOG Editor Chris
KELLEY Lowell '66 at pahs@... BEFORE Sunday, 12/1.
Things we're especially interested in getting:
* Stories from the August 2002 Las Vegas Reunion.
* Life transition stories - what folks are doing as they enter or
enjoy retirement, marry off kids, start second (or third!) families,
restore that 16th century farmhouse in Provence, etc.
* Information about any classmates or faculty who have passed away -
who?, when?, where / circumstances?, next-of-kin (so we can verify)?,
etc. We want to both update our records and honor their memories.
* And . . . stuff for the ever-popular Gossip Column.
Again, send stuff directly to Chris (pahs@...) by Sunday, 12/1.
Please do NOT send stuff to me - I'll just have to forward it to Chris
anyway, wasting time and bandwidth.
Thanks a bunch.

Jeff Tobin,
You've just nominated yourself to be on the next Reunion Committee.
<grin>
Seriously, the "standing committee" (Dave BURLIN, Chris KELLEY
Lowell, Bev TYLER, Rob LEE, Sue TANNER Cummings and me) have,
individually, been pretty busy these past 1 1/2 years dealing with
family and professional challenges (read: crises of various sorts).
We haven't had a lot of time to devote to PAHS stuff.
But we haven't forgotten either.
Stay tuned.

Gi'day to all !!
Gerry and I had a fantastic 9 weeks just crusin' France.
Not only managed to get into Camp des Loges but ended up having a
cuppa with the Officer of the Day !!!! It amazing that this place HAS
NOT CHANGED ONE LITTLE BIT !! (which does not say much for whomever
is responsible for the upkeep of the place !!!) And to think there is
now a Ralais et Chateau 5 star pub now directly across the street. At
$AUD1400 per night($US800 or so)we decided to move on to Giverney and
Monets Garden !!!!!!!!! Trust all is well with everyone.
Everyone,
On Thursday, March 28, Yahoo! Groups set everyone's account to
the "Have your advertisers send me mail" option no matter what folks
had previously elected as their preference. Because Yahoo! has thus
gone from an opt-in service to an opt-out one, if you have no desire
to surrender your inbox to a deluge of mail (i.e. spam) from Yahoo!'s
advertisers, you have to tell them that you don't want this mail --
if you don't say anything, they will just send it.
Here's how to get yourself back to a non-Yahoo!-spammed state.
Please note you're the only one who can make this change; list
moderators don't have access to your account, so they can't reset
this for you.
Go to Yahoo! Groups (http://groups.yahoo.com) and sign in with your
username and password. Click on Account Info and verify your
password. Click on CONTINUE. Scroll to about the middle of the next
page and click on EDIT YOUR MARKETING PREFERENCES. Make whatever
changes you wish - I changed all those 'Yes's' back to 'No's', since
I don't want any of Yahoo!'s spam. Scroll to the bottom of the page
and click SAVE CHANGES. Click CONTINUE on the next page that appears
and click on the FINISHED button of the following page.
