Our future is in the hands of the children we are trying to guide, protect, and allow to grow. As with anywhere, "the normal" for children is everything is earlier and expected for them to participate in. We are told it is normal for kids to do drugs and have intimate relations by the time they are fifteen.

Our only hope is to meld together in a like minded set of rules and ways to guide them without alienating them. Curfews, knowing where they are, having to check in during the day, holding them responsible for the actions, and teaching them to be responsible in our homes and in life does not come with a rule book.

Personal discretion in parenting is always going to have to be there because no two children, even in the same family are alike.

I have told mine that "If she was old enough to ask, I would be old enough to answer".

Join us in parenting without pushing away. A way to stand with vigillance, love at the same time, and lead by example.
