This group is primarily for English speaking people who live in or are interested in living in Panama. As most participants on the Panama Forum know, many of us longed for the good old days of Panama forums, when friendly people cared about helping newcomers in the spirit of sharing their experience and knowledge as it relates to moving to a new country. We missed having a spot where newcomers could post questions or opinions without being made to feel unwelcome, where anyone could disagree without that sinking into a shouting match. We missed having a place where we could compare our day to day experiences about living in Panama for the good of all. We care because someone had done the same for us and we would not like to see that feeling lost among the many newcomers to Panama. Our hope is that, if you participate here, you feel the same way and will work with us to create this kind of Forum.

No one will be permitted to spam or over-advertise nor will the moderators tolerate personal attacks. This is not the place for one-upmanship nor does quantity of posts equal quality of posts. Many members get messages via email, so please be considerate and clip old threads when posting.

On a final note, to the newcomer, sometimes it seems as though the chatter among those of us who live here doesn't address your needs. Please bear in mind this is about community in addition to being of service to the newcomer. It's not either/or and the very folks who may bore you to tears with a thread you could care less about, may be the ones who have the expertise you need. While constructive criticism is always most welcome, simply complaining helps no one.
