This group is primarily for English speaking people who live in or are interested in living in Panama. Our hope is that the Panama Forum is a place where friendly people care about helping newcomers by sharing their experience and knowledge as it relates to moving and living in a Panama. As such, we formed for this group for newcomers to have a place to ask those questions without being made to feel unwelcome, where anyone could disagree without that sinking into a shouting match. This forum is also a place where we all can compare our day to day experiences living in Panama for the good of all. We care because someone had done the same for us and we would not like to see that feeling lost among the many newcomers to Panama. Our hope is that, if you participate here, you feel the same way.

No one will be permitted to spam or over-advertise nor will the moderators tolerate personal attacks. This is not the place for one-upmanship nor does quantity of posts equal quality of posts. Many members get messages via email, so please be considerate and clip old threads when posting.

A couple notes, to the newcomer, sometimes it seems as though the chatter among those of us who have lived here for some time doesn't address your immediate needs. So please bear in mind this is about community in addition to being of service to the newcomer. It's not either/or and the very folks who may bore you to tears with a thread you could care less about, may be the ones who have the expertise you need. If you have specific questions, check out the Files and Links Sections and or search the message archives. If you don't see it then, please jump right in and ask away. If someone knows, you will get an answer or more likely several.
