Welcome to the Palo Alto Free list. "PAFree" is primarily about giving away stuff you no longer need (computer, CD, table etc.) for free. You may also ask for stuff which you need, but please use this sparingly and for things that are reasonable to ask for. You can post notices about items you'd like to give away and find things that that others may have offered. The only requirement is that the transfer of an item from one person to another has to be FREE.

Palo Alto Free can help the environment by diverting useful items from landfills, helping local members of the community, and can be a small step towards creating a sustainable local economy, where the needs of the community are met locally and money does not go needlessly out of the community to big corporations.

Palo Alto Link is a sister group of Palo Alto Free which allows members to: Loan/Borrow items, and Offer/Ask/Exchange Services. Please consider joining it as well.

BASIC rules for participating:
1. Everything must be free; no trades or offers of money
2. Reply only to sender of the email, instead of the whole group (please do not do a Reply All)
3. No solicitations, politics, news, spam etc.
4. Courtesy and consideration make the exchanges pleasant for all
5. No "Come and get it" or "first come, first served" kinds of posts
