Description

--- This group is a resource on parliamentary procedure and governance issues for people involved in the boards and committees of the Pacifica Foundation, a radio network with five stations in Berkeley CA (KPFA), Los Angeles CA (KPFK), Houston TX (KPFT), New York NY (WBAI) and Washington DC (WPFW). This group is NOT officially connected to the Pacifica Foundation in any way and is set up to be a self-help resource for the members of the Pacifica Foundation.
--- Pacifica Bylaws establish Robert’s Rules of Order Newly Revised as the parliamentary authority governing the Foundation (Art. 16). The rules of the section on "Decorum in Debate" of Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR 10th p. 379, l. 23 to p. 382, l. 12) will govern the conduct of discussions in this group.
--- This list may be used to ask questions about the governance of Pacifica or any parliamentary questions related to Pacifica meetings of boards or committees. Questions may be asked in the hypothetical. Anyone may attempt to answer another’s question, bearing in mind that the best answers are those that provide the citation to Robert’s Rules, the Bylaws, or the California Corporation Code as applicable.
--- The list will be open to public reading, but since Pacifica has approximately 100,000 members, only listener and staff members of Pacifica, or of a Pacifica associate or affiliate station, may become members of this group for posting privileges.
--- The moderator is Gregory Wonderwheel, a California attorney and parliamentarian. Any comments or replies on this list by Mr. Wonderwheel are NOT LEGAL ADVICE and NO ATTORNEY CLIENT RELATIONSHIP may to be assumed or is created by participation in this list.

Terry misses one fact. Missing every meeting for one year, even with all excused would hardly qualify as the prerequisite for PNB service. Unless we are going

Under the Pacifica Bylaws if you have 3 consecutive absences that are not excused you are out. It is silly for someone to run who will not be able to
