Self-help group list-serv, designed to be an open forum for those having experience with the chronic disorder of osteonecrosis, also known as avascular necrosis (AVN or ON). This is a primary or secondary disease that can result from a variety of things, from "the bends" (scuba diving variety), to corticosteroid usage, lipid storage diseases, pregnancy, alcohol consumption, post fracture or trauma to a bone, sickle cell disease, among other causes. All are welcome to join in and share their success and frustrations in getting to diagnosis and treatment and how to cope with life that entails both acute and chronic phases of this disease.
