With over 80 Orthodox parishes and many different vibrant communities, the Chicago area has a rich Orthodox church life. Unfortunately, communication between parishes and communities has sometimes been muted.

The OrthodoxChicago bulletin board was started in the summer of 2005, and then ported over to YahooGroups in October. Our hope is that it will help enable communication among the various Orthodox parishes in Chicago. All news and events relevant to Orthodox life in the Chicago region are appropriate - they don't need to be specifically in Chicago or even specifically Orthodox.

One nice thing about YahooGroups is that you can choose how to access post to this site -- web-only, via email, or by RSS. The RSS newsfeed can be picked up by browsers such as Opera, Firefox, and Safari, or viewed in newsreaders like Omea Reader. They can also easily be integrated into your personal or parish website. For one very simple way to do this, try this.

All posts are public, and all emails are masked to anonymous users (i.e. spambots). To avoid unpleasantness, registration is required to contribute.
