Thanks for the post! It is so cool that another team is using the name Orlando
Rage! They were my favorite XFL team because of their QB, Jeff Brohm, who I
remembered from his career at the University of Louisville. I believe that had
Jeff not gotten hurt, the Rage would have gone undefeated and won the
championship. Remember, it was Jeff, not Tommy Maddox, who was the league's
first team QB.
In 2002, the year after the XFL, Jeff was the head coach of the Louisville Fire
of Arena Football 2. I met him at a post-game autograph session. He told me that
his prospects of getting back to the NFL were bleak because, having played six
seasons in that league, the least he could make was about $528,000. In contrast,
a rookie could be signed for just about $200,000. One of the many things I hate
about the NFL.
I've watched quite a bit of the CFL this year and that's a lot of fun. And there
are two new pro football leagues scheduled to start next year:
All American Football League - http://www.allamericanfootballleague.com
United Football League - apparently no web page yet.
