Re: [orion565] Re: Transmit Audio

ok, thanks for riding along with me on this and all the suggestions.
I called TT today and spoke to Paul, he felt the only problem would be in the
software so he had me do a master reset and settings reset.

I really hated to do that (last resort) as my settings would be lost however
that is what I did and the low audio problems went away. So for now, all is ok.

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

73,
Sam

Hello Sam,

Suggestion to isolate the issue.

Did you try transmitting using CW on 20 Meter and does it show the same
behavior?

Can you record voice message into one of the voice memories and run this to
check if this provides other results?

With headphone connected to orion, do you notice the audio declining after the
10 seconds transmit while "monitor" is enabled?

Does the power always drop, even when running 50Watts or less?

Are you using ten-tec microphone or some third part microphone?

What does the ALC LED tell you? Does it always blink on peaks, even when you
notice the output power going down?

On ALC LED, does it follow the expected peaks or is it more random behavior and
sometimes even at times you dont expect ALC to show?

Perhaps this way we can isolate possible root cause.

Best regards,
Onno pa1ap
