Description

Before Television, radio and phonographs the family had to entertain themselves. For home entertainment, a surprisingly large number of homes had reed organs--they were smaller than a piano, less expensive and lighter. The big problem was--you had to know how to play them. Several companies (and the Aeolian/Orchestrelle company was the largest) developed methods of playing these beautiful instruments through the use of paper encoded rolls. Time has continued its ravages and many of these wonderful pieces have deteriorated over the years--needing to receive the love that they were built to give.

This group is for sharing information, questions, pictures of and general promotion of the Aeolian Orchestrelle. You can request parts, ask for a description of how something works or sell your rolls.
