"There are worse crimes than burning books. One of those is not reading them ..."

~Joseph Brodsky

.

Sponsored by writer, Jacqui Jacoby, Open the Books is a book club with a regular, monthly reading assignment and a discussion afterwards. There are no banned books, though banned books might make the reading list. Sometimes our chosen book will be a classic, sometimes a contemporary, sometimes a romance, maybe even an extended children’s books. Sci-fi, mystery, romance ... no genre will be taboo.

The goal of Open the Books is to expand our minds, read new books, establish relationships with like minded people and grow in mind and spirit.

On the first of the month, a book will be assigned which participants are encouraged to read. The first week of the following month will be dedicated to discussing the title and learning other reader’s opinions and insights.

Active participation is required and lurking is discouraged. And though sometimes one person might like a book that someone else doesn't, we will express our opinions in mature discussions and no flaming will be allowed.

Thank you! That's exactly where I started having trouble with the book, too! And if you choose to read on, you will find near-criminal overuse of the adjective

Oooh-kaaayy
So, I just finished Murder Most Royal, and find myself wondering what, exactly, the point was. I found the writing gratingly repetitve, the storyline

Re: Progress reports?
Can't say I have finished Murder Most Royal yet either. It's on my list, but not far enough up to get me to work on it every day. I was thinking of going
