Just heard our Toys for Tots program is coming up drastically short
this year. Please pass this link around and let's see if we can get a
last minute push to make this years mission.

What follows is just one example I've heard, besides on the my local
news last
night.

"U.S. Marine Sgt. Michael Perez, who heads up the Toys for Tots
program, said organizers anticipated a greater demand this holiday
season because of the economy. Collection boxes were even set out
about a month earlier than they usually are, he said.

Although the early push has helped, the numbers are still low. Perez
said Toys for Tots was about 50 percent short on donations as of
Tuesday. A series of toy drives in the past few days has helped. In
addition, some local businesses collected toys for donations at
holiday parties in lieu of doing gift exchanges among employees, he
said."
