We'll be ending the Yahoo Groups list and migrating to a new Online News Association one, so make sure to sign up for this list soon and start thinking of good discussion questions! We're hoping to make this list much more active and useful and we can use your help.
You can sign up for the new list, and access the new member benefits, at http://www.journalists.org/members
For those of you whose membership has lapsed, we hope you'll consider rejoining.
Here is an overview of all the benefits the Online News Association offers and reasons to renew: http://journalist.org/about/archives/000128.php
We've begun rolling out a number of new member benefits, and more will be coming soon.
For instance, you'll find a searchable directory of all active ONA members, including contact information. (If you don't want your information to be available, you can easily opt-out.)
There is a new section on Training and Tip Sheets for online journalists, which includes ONA's first online news training module and links to valuable handouts and PowerPoints from the 2004 conference.
And Chet Rhodes of washingtonpost.com has generously taken the time to create a resources section on how online journalists can apply for credentials to press pools and news events.
You also find a new section listing information about the many special discounts that are available to ONA members to attend various conferences and seminars around the country. (These alone are worth more than the $50 membership fee)
