Hi All,
I'm just sending this out as a general query... in case someone has an
answer or can point me in the right direction....

I'm interested in learning electronics - but in a practical way so that I
can construct my own simple circuit boards, etc.

I'm particularly interested in doing something practical, after hours, in
Johannesburg...

But if anyone has any experience in electronics and can give advice I'd
appreciate it.

One of my co-workers said he did a part-time course over a few months and
that's how he learned. He went on to design and sell a computer system
which hooks up to petrol pumps.
The problem is... that the place he went and did the part-time practical
course with... actually went out of business!!! (Typical)...  So I'm
trying to find something similar...
If anyone has any ideas or suggestions... just fire away...

I know there are correspondence courses... but I'm not sure if that will
be as effective...

For pro-life advocates, the choice in this November's presidential elections is clear: President George W. Bush deserves your vote.

President Bush has compiled a record during his first term in office that can only be described as extraordinarily pro-life. And, when it comes to the key battles and judicial appointments over the next four years, only President Bush can be trusted to advance the cause of life.

From the moment President Bush was inaugurated, he began implementing pro-life policy.

On his first day in office, he reinstituted the Mexico City Policy that prohibits taxpayer funding of groups that perform or promote abortions in other countries. Not only did he bring back the policy that Bill Clinton ditched, he expanded it to include any funding given to groups in the entire State Department budget and threatened to veto Congressional legislation that overturned his decision.


ABORTION: On abortion issues, President Bush has been a solid pro-life advocate. He signed the ban on partial-birth abortions -- the first legislation since the Roe v. Wade decision that made any type of abortion illegal. Abortion advocates have sued to overturn the ban and the Bush administration has solidly defended it in court.

President Bush also signed the Born Alive Infants Protection Act. The measure makes sure that unborn children who survive botched abortions receive proper medical care instead of being left to die or purposefully killed after birth.

Bush has also repeatedly denied federal funds to the UNFPA. This is a UN agency that has supported Chinese population control officials when they force women to have abortions or parents to be sterilized because they want more than one child.

Most importantly, President Bush has nominated pro-life judges to important federal court positions. This signals that he will appoint judges to the Supreme Court that will give the pro-life community a chance to overturn Roe vs. Wade.

The next president could determine the legalization of abortion for the next 30 years via Supreme Court appointments. Bush's consistently in appointing judges who are pro-life or will uphold the pro-life laws that are passed is good news for the future.


HELPING WOMEN: Despite claims by abortion advocates that John Kerry is a better advocate for women, President Bush has done more for pregnant women.

Bush signed what became known as Laci and Conner's Law that protects pregnant women from tragic acts of violence. When a criminal assaults a pregnant woman and kills or injures her baby, common sense tells most people that there are two victims. The bill recognizes that fact and allows prosecutors to charge criminals for both crimes.

Sadly, John Kerry's common sense didn't kick in and he returned to Washington from the campaign trail specifically to vote against the bill, despite letters to him from Laci Peterson's parents and family backing it.

President Bush also helped pregnant women and their babies obtain medical care during the pregnancy. By allowing unborn children to be covered under the federal CHIP health insurance program, poor pregnant women could qualify for coverage.

Groups that help pregnant women cite the lack of medical insurance as one financial reason that compels some women to have abortions. Several states have signed on to the program and the number of abortions should drop as a result.


EMBRYONIC STEM CELL RESEARCH: President Bush has been thoroughly blasted for his August 2001 decision to prevent taxpayer funding of any new embryonic stem cell research conducted after that point.

John Kerry claims the policy prevented all funding of all research. Instead, while is seeks to defund new research destroying human life, Bush's policy authorized more than $190 million for adult stem cell research. That more ethical and effective alternative has already produced 140 treatments while not one single human patient has ever been cured from using embryonic stem cells.

Members of Congress and biotech lobbyists are working overtime to use your tax dollars to pay to destroy unborn children "left over" from in-vitro fertilization in order to obtain their stem cells. To his credit, President Bush has resisted calls to do that.


HUMAN CLONING: The pro-life community couldn't have asked for more from President Bush when it comes to opposing human cloning.

The president, on many occasions, vocally backed bills in Congress that would ban both forms of human cloning. The Bush administration also played a key role in promoting a human cloning ban treaty at the United Nations that will receive a second vote next month.


ASSISTED SUICIDE: President Bush has taken a clear stand against assisted suicide and euthanasia.

The Bush administration declared that federally controlled drugs could not be used in assisted suicides in the state of Oregon, the only state where the practice is legal. All of the assisted suicides there have involved such drugs. Attorneys for the president have vigorously defended the decision in court.

President Bush also has spoken out in favor of Terri Schiavo's family and their efforts to defend their daughter's right to live.


ABSTINENCE FUNDING: President Bush has strongly supported abstinence-only education. In addition to increasing funding, President Bush, in his January State of the Union address, called on Congress to triple the amount of money it is dedicating to these important programs.


JOHN KERRY: John Kerry's position on these key issues is clear. He will do everything in his power to advocate abortion and pay for it with your tax dollars. He would overturn the Mexico City Policy, fund the UNFPA, and back legislation that would overturn other pro-life policies.

John Kerry will also use your tax money to destroy human embryos for research, has said he supports assisted suicide, and would likely refuse expanding funding for abstinence education.

Kerry's commitment to a human cloning ban in Congress and at the UN is doubtful. He has already endorsed a "clone and kill" version that bans human cloning for reproduction but allows unborn children to be cloned and killed in research.

Most importantly, Kerry has repeatedly said he would appoint pro-abortion judges to key federal courts and pro-life advocates have no chance of a pro-life nominee to the Supreme Court during a Kerry administration.

Abortion will be legal, but certainly not safe or rare if John Kerry is elected.

VOTE FOR BUSH: President Bush is a man with clear pro-life values and he has taken every occasion during his presidency to implement public policy that values the dignity and worth of human life.

Important battles to protect human life are still to come and we need a president who will help turn back efforts to expand abortion, human cloning, destructive research, and assisted suicide.

One commentator figures that the bias in the liberal media accounts for roughly 15% of Kerry's vote.  If this were a business monopoly, the Federal Trade Commission would have busted it up years ago.  Such influence can destroy a nation -- even the world.  There must be more competition allowed in the mainstream.  Stephen


Big Media Drops the Mask

That 377 tons of high explosives went missing from an Iraqi munitions facility 30 miles south of Baghdad is a legitimate story.
 
But did it deserve to be the front-page, two-column headline lead in The New York Times? Did it merit being featured on "60 Minutes," 30 hours before Election Day, as CBS News planned? Or were these twin media mastodons colluding as conscious agents of the Kerry campaign?

These are not unfair questions -- for consider:

We now know that the explosives have been missing from Al Qaqaa for 18 months and that this was known by the U.S. government. We now know that the 377 tons represents less than one-tenth of one percent of the munitions U.S. forces have captured or destroyed.

We now know the explosives were probably moved before U.S. troops arrived. For it is hard to believe an organized theft of these explosives, involving hundreds of men and 40 trucks, each hauling 10 tons of high explosives, could have been carried out on Iraqi roads jammed with U.S. military vehicles after the fall of Baghdad.

Yet, thanks to CBS and the Times, Kerry was able, for three days of the last week of the campaign, to make a charge of presidential dereliction of duty that threw Bush off message and on the defensive.

According to Howard Kurtz of The Washington Post, CBS News' Jeff Fager pleaded with the Times' Bill Keller not to publish the story until 36 hours before voting began. Keller balked, saying this "wouldn't give the White House a fair opportunity to respond."

Which seems to be what CBS had in mind.

For the Los Angeles Times cites a CBS source as saying that Fager was "distraught" the story was not held until 30 hours before voting began. The CBS gang was out to finish off a president with an unanswerable charge on the eve of an election.

This is the second time this fall that CBS News and "60 Minutes" have used hyped or bogus stories to sink President Bush.

In September, Dan Rather and "60 Minutes" charged that Bush, while in the Texas Air National Guard, had been insubordinate, had refused orders to take a medical exam and had used influence to avoid being disciplined.

Within hours, it was shown that the "60 Minutes" exclusive was based on criminally fabricated and forged memos. Yet CBS has never retracted its story nor apologized to President Bush.

Nor has CBS explained why it did not tell the public that the memos had been questioned by the family of the officer who had supposedly written them; that CBS got them from a erratic, wacky, anti-Bush zealot, not an "unimpeachable" source as Rather had claimed; and that the ex-lieutenant governor who confessed to Rather he had gotten Bush into the Guard had previously said the opposite under oath.

And why was CBS maniacally pursuing a National Guard story that had been knocking around for a decade, while ignoring the new dynamite charges of the Swift Boat Vets that Kerry had lied about his combat record in Vietnam and colluded with communists? In August, the whole country was talking about the Swift Boat ads.

As Kurtz reports, the nonpartisan Project for Excellence in Journalism has now documented a media bias toward Kerry and an animus toward this president.

During the two-week period around the presidential debates, 59 percent of the stories about Bush on CBS, ABC, NBC, PBS's "News Hour," CNN and Fox News, and in The Washington Post and The New York Times were negative, but only 25 percent of the stories about John Kerry. One in three stories about Kerry was positive, but only one in seven about Bush. In the print media, 68 percent of the stories were negative on Bush, but only 26 percent were negative on Kerry.

Fox News was positive on Bush, but CNN's Aaron Brown's made Fox look like the profile of an ambivalent and undecided voter. According to Kurtz, citing the Project, "not a single CNN story was both dominated by and positive for President Bush." Not one.

After Paul Bremer said we did not send enough troops to Iraq, John Roberts, possible successor to Rather, said: "The famously disciplined Bush campaign appeared to trip all over itself trying to clean up the mess. ... A day of contradictory messages is not the way the Bush campaign wanted to go into this important debate."

With folks like Fager doing the choosing, Roberts should have the inside track to the anchor's chair.

In a revealing story, Slate, the Internet magazine, had its writers publicly name the man for whom each intended to vote and tell why. Five Slate writers named Bush, 45 named Kerry, a nine-to-one ratio. A poll of the national press would likely reach the same result.

This election has indeed revealed an "alternative media" of the right. But the national press remains what it has been since the 1960s: the most reliably left-wing voting block this side of Bedford Stuyvesant

I have no idea what this guy Dave is about, but his post reminded me of our bigger challenge: to get honest information into the mainstream debate.  Heck, we can't even seem to find a single honest Democrat who cares to debate real issues!  I think Zell Miller was the last one.  Lately, the political debate has become little more than a food fight, with morons like Michael Moore leading the charge.  No fault of Bush, of course.  But still, the congress can pass legislation to improve matters.  If, after the election,  we allow our discourse to keep free-falling to new lows, the nation will descend into a darkness we've probably not considered in our lifetimes. And if that retrograde level of debate takes grip on us, the war on terror will seem mild compared to our crisis within. 
 
We'd better watch it carefully.  After Bush retakes office, I want to see him speak to this issue .... it will take careful wordcraft but I think he can do it as well as anyone ... he is a great healer -- a great uniter. But then I hope we will also root out the problem at the core ... placing controls on what I call "licensed propaganda", in both the elementary schools and the "mainstrream media".  The problem is that many people cannot afford cable or satellite, and that's a large group of gullible people.  They believe liberal lies.
 
I mean, we see the grave damage of the Arab children being raised with anti-American brainwashing.  But what are American kids learning?  And if a major licensed broadcaster can be governed by decency laws to protect our children, can't we do the same for the blatantly dishonest propaganda?  The "news" that gets reported to the less educated segments of America.  There must be some standard of honesty and objectivity we can base laws on.  Certainly we can weed out the grossest deliberate misrepresentations.  If we can do it in court -- and we do, of course -- we can do it at FCC too.  Fair and balanced is not the issue.  It's lies vs.. truth I'm talking about here.  To be sure, there will always be issues in the gray zone, and those would remain, but the most flagrant falsehoods would be penalized.  Ultimately, all we need to do is let competition in the marketplace do its good deeds.  But short-term, unless we deregualate broadcasting altogether, those with the most powerful licenses and market reach will dominate to a damaging extent.  Can you imagine seeing the equivalent of FoxNews on all the major nets?  And all the major papers?
 
Now THAT is liberating a nation!  Of course, those in power know this too.  That's why its so hard to pull off.  But we keep pushing.
 
To even consider controlling political speech, of any kind, sounds a bit chilling but we do it now, in fact.  We can't afford to loose quality reporting.  We need to take that seriously too.  But there is a gross imbalance of influence the liberals have over those unable to afford quality information.  Look at the UN fiascos: the scams of the century.  The liberal media won't touch thsoe stories.  WHY???  This should scare the hell out of us.  And when we've got those willing accomplices in the media trying to trip the election, we've got problems much bigger than we've seen before.  Something must be done.   It shouldn't take a thrown election to wake us up.  We should have seen this train coming, and acted accordingly, for some time. 
 
So, what all this boils down to is:  regardless of what the political landscape looks like next year, we no longer have the luxury of pretending that liberals have some legitimate claim to moral equivalence.  Fair and balanced (and this is not just a reference to Fox) means a balance of reasonable competing ideas, but liberalism has been proved a lie for many decades now.  It represents a philosophy we reject as part of our foundational American creed.  It has no opposite to anything but truth itself.  It must cease or it will devour the whole nation like a malignant cancer.

      On June 13, 1866, in the immediate aftermath of the Civil War, Congress passed the 14th Amendment to the  Constitution of the United States, which was ratified by the states and became part of our Constitution on July 9, 1868.
 
      The 14th Amendment, or Article 14, is commonly known as the ''Equal Rights Amendment,'' for it contains in Section 1 the now-famous injunction that ''No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.''  This section has been the pivot point for much of the most important legislation and jurisprudence of the last half century.
 
      And, in the shadow of Section 1, the rest of Article 14 has been mostly ignored and largely forgotten, because much of it deals with the consequences of insurrection and rebellion within the United States, and we haven't had many of those since 1868.
 
      But lurking in the heart of Article 14, Section 3, is a very important and potent clause of our Constitution which was originally adopted to bar officers of the United States military and members of Congress who had defected to the Confederacy, or given aid and comfort to the Confederacy, from Federal office.
 
      And Article 14, Section 3, now becomes John Kerry's Constitutional Conundrum. 
 
      I quote in full:

''Section 3.  No person shall be a senator or representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State, who having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.  But Congress may by a vote of two thirds of each House, remove such disability.''

      When John Kerry joined the navy and became a commissioned officer, he took an oath, an oath to protect and defend the United States and the Constitution of the United States against all enemies.
 
      When he returned from Vietnam, while still a naval officer, John Kerry quickly became an anti-war protester, and a prominent leader of the anti-war activist organization, Vietnam Veterans Against the War.
 
      While giving him the benefit of the doubt, I will assume that John Kerry intended his activism to shorten the war and save lives.  But he made a catastrophic error in judgment.  It did not.  It prolonged the war, and it cost more American lives, and more Vietnamese lives.  To be blunt, the anti-war activism of John Kerry and others like him had the unintended consequence of killing people, and their blood is on his hands.
 
      How many people?  It is impossible to know, with any certainty, but in his 1985 memoir, North Vietnamese General Vo Nguyen Giap wrote that if it had not been for anti-war activists such as John Kerry, North Vietnam, militarily beaten after the Tet Offensive, would have surrendered; but the anti-war movement, and in particular John Kerry's congressional testimony in April 1971, convinced the North Vietnamese that if they could hold on a little longer the growing anti-war movement and sentiment in America would turn America's military victory into a political defeat, and North Vietnam's military defeat into a political victory.
 
      John Kerry was the point man for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War, and with his April 1971 testimony before Congress, under oath, charging that Americans in Vietnam were committing war crimes on a daily basis as a matter of operational policy, he gave the North Vietnamese what they hadn't been able to get out of American POWs in the Hanoi Hilton: a confession of war crimes.  A false confession, but a confession nonetheless.
 
      An ex-POW, now Senator John McCain, wrote in an article for U.S. News & World Report (14 May 1972) that John Kerry's testimony was ''the most effective propaganda tool they had to use against us.''  Today, John Kerry's photograph is prominently displayed in the room of tribute to American anti-war protesters in the Vietnamese Communist War Remnants Museum in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon).  You can go see it at www.WinterSoldier.com.
 
      Later, while still a naval officer, John Kerry met illegally with a North Vietnamese delegation in Paris to conduct unauthorized private diplomacy, for which he is reported to have lost his top secret security clearance, and although the documentation is not fully public (John Kerry will not release his full service records) there is reason to believe that he may have received a dishonorable discharge (see The New York Sun, October 13, 2004, ''Mystery Surrounds Kerry's Navy Discharge.'')
 
      Because of the anti-war activism of John Kerry and others like him, the Vietnam war lasted several years longer than it might have.  Several thousand American names are engraved on The Wall now, names of men who died after John Kerry took up the enemy's cause, men who might otherwise be alive today.  And after the United States, internally defeated by the anti-war politics of the American left, abandoned South East Asia, more than four million Vietnamese and Cambodians died in the communist purges that followed.
 
      Today in the presidential campaign, John Kerry continues to give aid and comfort to another enemy, calling America's war on terrorism in Iraq ''the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time.''
 
      John Kerry's public record of giving ''aid and comfort'' to the enemy is so public, and so indisputable, that I believe it is a fact, commonly known and not subject to plausible controversion, of which any Federal Court could, or must, take judicial notice.
 
      The presidency is both a civil office, and as commander in chief a military office, of the United States.
 
      And that returns us to Article 14, Section 3, of the United States Constitution, which bars from all civil and military offices of the United States any person who, having once taken an oath as an officer of the United States, has given aid and comfort to an enemy of the United States, i.e., John Kerry.
 
      John Kerry took an oath as a naval officer, before he became a prominent anti-war activist.  He took another oath to protect and defend the Constitution when he was sworn in as a senator, before he called America's war on terrorism in Iraq "the wrong war, in the wrong place, at the wrong time."  Now, he seeks to become president, and commander in chief, and will, if he is elected, take the oath again, to protect and defend the Constitution.
 
      But if he fulfills that oath, as he should, if he is elected, and if he is to defend the Constitution, then his first official act as President must be to resign from the office of president, because he is barred from the presidency by Article 14, Section 3, of the Constitution of the United States, which he will have sworn (again) to protect and defend.
 
      This is John Kerry's Constitutional Conundrum: If he is elected, the Constitution requires him to resign, or to be removed from office.
 
      The demand for John Kerry's resignation if, and after, he is elected or inaugurated, will create a political eruption unlike any we have seen in many years, or generations.  It would elevate John Edwards, a man whose qualifications for the Presidency seem slight, to the White House.
 
      I believe this is an issue that should be grappled with before the election, not afterward.  At the least, it should become central to the public debate during the next two weeks.
 
      I also believe that some person, or persons, or one or more organizations, such as the Swiftboat Veterans for Truth, or the Vietnam Veterans Against John Kerry, should file a lawsuit in Federal Court seeking a determination, based on public records and documents, that John Kerry has given aid and comfort to enemies of the United States, and an injunction barring him from the presidency, pursuant to Article 14, Section 3, of the Constitution of the United States.
 
      This will not be a criminal proceeding.  It is not a prosecution for treason or sedition.  It does not require proof beyond a reasonable doubt; only to a ''preponderance of the evidence,'' evidence that it is more probable than not that John Kerry has given aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States.  He will not go to jail, he will not risk paying any fines or damages.  There will only be, or, in my opinion, there should be, a judgment that, having given aid and comfort to the enemies of the United States, he is barred by Article 14, Section 3, of the Constitution of the United States, from the presidency.

*** In Ohio, they've got four counties where there are now more voters registered than they have 18 and over population. A lot of these newly-registered "voters" don't even have addresses. When the elections departments send the registration postcards out to them after they register, thousands of them are coming back undeliverable, all across the state.

*** Ohio's voter-registration rolls contain more than 120,000 duplicate names, and an untold number of ineligible voters, such as people who have moved out of the state. A review of the rolls by the Columbus Dispatch even found a murder victim and two suspected terrorists among the "eligible voters"!

*** In Michigan, Democrats have sued to force "provisional" ballots that are cast in the wrong precinct to be counted, anticipating that their supporters are the ones most likely to head to the wrong place to vote. Michigan Democrats delayed the suit for months and attempted to "railroad" it through the courts at the last minute.

*** In Florida, election officials found 46,000 state residents also registered to vote in New York. The overwhelming number of double registrations were Democratic. The Orlando Sentinel also examined voting records from Florida, Georgia and North Carolina, and found that in more than 68,000 cases voters with the same names and dates of birth were registered in two states.

*** In Pennsylvania, reports indicate that the hyper- partisan Democrat Gov. Ed Rendell and the former Kerry campaign official he just put in charge of monitoring the state's election for problems such as fraud are working overtime to make sure that the votes of some 16,000 military voters aren't counted. As polls show roughly 75 percent of the military vote is likely to go to Pres. Bush, this represents a clear attempt to deny Bush as many as 12,000 votes in that state.

*** In Alabama, counties have a big backlog of last- minute registrations that were brought in by "outside" organizations, and discrepancies in the records have left officials unsure how many voters are actually on the rolls. Last week, the director of the office of voter registration resigned after she couldn't explain the discrepancies.

*** In Nevada, litigants supported with cash from the Democratic party went to court and tried to re-open voter registration when it looked like there weren't enough new Democrat voters registering.

*** In Illinois, members of the military received absentee ballots that failed to even LIST George W. Bush and Dick Cheney!


In addition, the Kerry campaign acknowledges that they have 10,000 lawyers ready to swoop into any "close" states to contest any election results they don't like.

Kerry's Discharge Is Questioned by an Ex-JAG Officer

A former officer in the Navy's Judge Advocate General Corps Reserve has built a case that Senator Kerry was other than honorably discharged from the Navy by 1975, The New York Sun has learned.

The "honorable discharge" on the Kerry Web site appears to be a Carter administration substitute for an original action expunged from Mr. Kerry's record, according to Mark Sullivan, who retired as a captain in the Navy's Judge Advocate General Corps Reserve in 2003 after 33 years of service as a judge advocate. Mr. Sullivan served in the office of the Secretary of the Navy between 1975 and 1977.

On behalf of the Kerry campaign, Michael Meehan and others have repeatedly insisted that all of Mr. Kerry's military records are on his Web site atjohnkerry.com, except for his medical records.

"If that is the case," Mr. Sullivan said, "the true story isn't what was on the Web site. It's what's missing. There should have been an honorable discharge certificate issued to Kerry in 1975,if not earlier, three years after his transfer to the Standby Reserve-Inactive."

Another retired Navy Reserve officer, who served three tours in the Navy's Bureau of Personnel, points out that there should also have been a certified letter giving Mr. Kerry a choice of a reserve reaffiliation or separation and discharge. If Mr. Meehan is correct and all the documents are indeed on the Web site, the absence of any documents from 1972 to 1978 in the posted Kerry files is a glaring hole in the record.

The applicable U.S. Navy regulation, now found at MILPERSMAN 1920-210 "Types of Discharge for Officers," lists five examples of conditions required to receive an honorable discharge certificate, four required to receive a general discharge "not of such a nature as to require discharge under conditions other than honorable," and seven for "the lowest type of separation from the naval service. It is now officially in all respects equivalent to a dishonorable discharge."

Kerry spokesmen have also repeatedly said that the senator has an honorable discharge. And there is indeed a cover letter to an honorable discharge dated February 16,1978,on the Kerry Web site. It is in form and reference to regulation exactly the same as one granted Swiftboat Veterans for Truth member Robert Shirley on March 12, 1971, during a periodic "reduction in force (RIF)" by the Naval Reserve. The only significant difference between Mr. Kerry's and Mr. Shirley's is the signature information and the dates. In a RIF, officers who no longer have skills or are of an age group the Navy wishes to keep in reserve are involuntarily separated by the Navy and given their appropriate discharge. This is a normal and ongoing activity and there is no stigma attached to it.

Kerry spokesman David Wade did not reply when asked if Mr. Kerry was other than honorably discharged before he was honorably discharged.

"Mr. Meehan may well be right and all Mr. Kerry's military records are on his Web site," Mr. Sullivan said. "Unlike en listed members, officers do not receive other than honorable, or dishonorable, certificates of discharge. To the contrary, the rule is that no certificate will be awarded to an officer separated wherever the circumstances prompting separation are not deemed consonant with traditional naval concepts of honor. The absence of an honorable discharge certificate for a separated naval officer is, therefore, a harsh and severe sanction and is, in fact, the treatment given officers who are dismissed after a general court-martial."

With the only discharge document cited by Mr. Kerry issued in 1978, three years after the last date it should have been issued, the absence of a certificate from 1975 leaves only two possibilities. Either Mr. Kerry received an "other than honorable" certificate that has been removed in a review purging it from his records, or even worse, he received no certificate at all. In both cases there would have been a loss of all of Mr. Kerry's medals and the suspension of all benefits of service.

Certainly something was wrong as early as 1973 when Mr. Kerry was applying to law school.

Mr. Kerry has said, "I applied to Harvard, Boston University, and Boston College. I was extremely late. Only BC would entertain a late application."

It is hard to see why Mr. Kerry had to file an "extremely late" application since he lost the congressional race in Lowell, Mass., the first week of November 1972 and was basically doing nothing until he entered law school the following September of 1973.A member of the Harvard Law School admissions committee recalled that the real reason Mr. Kerry was not admitted was because the committee was concerned that because Mr. Kerry had received a less than honorable discharge they were not sure he could be admitted to any state bar.

The fact that Mr. Kerry had cancelled his candidacy for a Congressional seat in 1970 in favor of Father Robert Drinan cannot have hurt Mr. Kerry's admission to Boston College. The Reverend Robert Drinan's previous position was dean of the Boston College Law School.

Given this, it is likely that a legal review took place that effectively purged Mr. Kerry's Navy files and arranged for the three-year-late honorable discharge in 1978.There were two avenues during the 1977-1978 time period. This could have been under President Carter's Executive Order 11967, under which thousands received pardons and upgrades for harsh discharges or other offenses under the Selective Service Act. Or it might have merged into efforts by the military to comply with the demands of the 1975 Church Committee. Mr. Sullivan was personally involved in the 1976 and 1977 records review answering Senator Kennedy's demands to determine the scope of any counterintelligence abuses by the military.

In the Foreign Surveillance Act of 1977, legislation introduced by Mr. Kennedy to enforce the findings of the Church Committee, there is language that literally describes the behavior of Mr. Kerry. The defined behavior that could no longer be subject to surveillance without warrants includes: "Americans having contact with foreign powers in the case of Americans who were active in the protest against U.S. involvement in Vietnam. Some of them may have attended international conferences at which there were representatives of foreign powers, as defined in the bill, or may have been directly in communication with foreign governments concerning this issue."

One of Mr. Kerry's first acts of office as he entered the Senate on January 3, 1985, was making sure what was still in the Navy files. A report was returned to Mr. Kerry by a Navy JAG on January 25, 1985, and appears on the Kerry Web site. There is an enclosure listed that may have contained a list of files, according to David Myers, the JAG who prepared it, that is not on Mr. Kerry's Web site. It could have provided an index for all of Mr. Kerry's Navy files.

All officials with knowledge of what specifically happened in Mr. Kerry's case are muzzled by the Privacy Act of 1974.The act makes it a crime for federal employees to knowingly disclose personal information or records.

Only Mr. Kerry can do that. As of this writing, Mr. Kerry has failed to sign a Standard Form 180 giving the electorate and the press access to his Navy files.

A former secretary of the Navy is urging Sen. John Kerry to open up his personnel files to resolve the question of whether the Democratic presidential nominee received a less-than-honorable discharge from the Navy.

William Middendorf, the Navy chief from 1974 to 1977, told WorldNetDaily today that Kerry, who began inactive reserve status in 1972, would have been issued a document three years later either for a reserve reaffiliation or a separation discharge.

An "honorable discharge" from 1978 appears on the Kerry campaign's website, but a Navy lawyer who served under Middendorf believes that document is a substitute for one that would have been issued in 1975.

However, no such document can be found among the records Kerry has made available.

"I should think it would be in his interest to open up the files, to clear up any misunderstanding," said Middendorf, who later served as ambassador to the Netherlands, European Union and Organization of American States.

Middendorf said he cannot comment specifically on any action taken on Kerry, because he is barred, under the 1974 Privacy Act, from discussing personnel matters.

However, he enthusiastically vouches for the character of Mark Sullivan, who formed the basis for a story today in the New York Sun by Thomas Lipscomb, the first to report discrepancies in Kerry's discharge record.

Sullivan, who served in the secretary of the Navy's office in the Judge Advocate General Corps Reserve between 1975 and 1977, says the "honorable discharge" on the Kerry website appears to be a Carter administration substitute for an original action expunged from Kerry's record, Lipscomb reported.

Asked by WorldNetDaily to address Sullivan's findings, Middendorf cited the Privacy Act.

"I shouldn't comment other than to say I respect Mark Sullivan as one of the finest Navy officers we had."

The Kerry campaign has insisted that all of the senator's Navy records have been released, with the exception of medical papers, but the Washington Post and others have reported at least 100 pages are still under wraps. Kerry would need to file a Standard Form 180 to grant permission for full release of his records.

If Kerry received something other than an honorable discharge, it likely was related to his anti-war activities while a member of the Navy reserve, says Jerome Corsi, a specialist on the anti-war movement and co-author of best-seller "Unfit for Command."

"We've been arguing that Kerry's cooperation with the enemy throughout the Vietnam War was widely known by the intelligence community," Corsi told WND.

Corsi believes this is the reason the discharge is not on the campaign website.

"If he didn't have reason to hide anything, he would have released it," Corsi said.

As WorldNetDaily reported last week, two newly unearthed documents captured by U.S. troops during the Vietnam War provide the first concrete evidence that Hanoi's communist regime directing Kerry's group Vietnam Veterans Against the War.

A third document provides more context, showing that Kerry's 1971 press conference calling on President Nixon to accept the seven-point plan presented by Viet Cong leader Madame Binh aligned with Hanoi's carefully crafted agenda.

To be sure, we cannot expect Homeland Security to do all our work for us.  That's why we have those color alters, I suppose:  so the people can prepare to take action if they need to.  I think the alert level should be raised tomorrow ... because there will be foreigners hanging around our voting booths.   So, if anyone sees a foreign monitor tomorrow, I believe that this writer has the right idea ......

That's it ... we have already waited too long to act.  Seriously, in my mind, this has been coming for some time but reading this article was the last straw.  Today marks the turning point: November 1, 2004.  The rest of my life is now dedicated to restoring America to it's godly foundations.  I will find ways to raise the necessary dough along the way.  It's a done deal.   No turning back now.

About 60 mainly European election observers have taken up their posts in six states, including Florida and Ohio, saying they hope their presence will serve as a "preventative to the shenanigans" during voting tomorrow.
 
"We will tell the people of Ohio whether their election is free and fair," said one of the observers, Hugo Coveliers, a Belgian senator who plans to monitor voting in Cleveland.
 
But many of the parliamentary observers sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) are here to learn about the American electoral experience as much as to monitor it.
 
Several sat up straight during a lecture late last week by former Republican National Committee Chairman Frank Fahrenkopf when he talked about wedge issues and how to concentrate resources where they will produce the most ballots.
 
"That's not a bad idea," whispered one Eastern European observer to a colleague. "This may be useful next year."
 
The observers all are legislators who have volunteered to observe the U.S. elections at the request of the OSCE, a 55-member alliance founded in 1975 to foster East-West cooperation and monitor compliance with the Helsinki Accords.
 
This is not the first time the OSCE has sent monitors to the United States, but it is the largest and most controversial of its U.S. missions.
 
The Bush administration issued the invitation only reluctantly, and the presence of the Europeans has angered many Americans, who see it as an infringement of U.S. sovereignty.
 
The observers have already fanned out to Florida, New Mexico, Minnesota, Ohio, North Carolina and Virginia. After meeting with local officials and voters groups, the observers — whose home countries range from Belgium to Kazakhstan — will spend Election Day watching the polls.
 
The OSCE rules do not allow observers to do much more than make sure that local rules are followed. If they see someone burning ballots in the alley, they are not permitted to interfere. Nor are they supposed to criticize the army of lawyers, negative advertising or simplistic campaign speeches that many of them seem to find jarring.
 
Nevertheless, the observers hope their presence will serve as a "preventative to the shenanigans," said Mr. Coveliers, the Belgian senator. "What [the voters] can be sure about is, if there are obvious shortcomings, an international organization of 55 countries will declare there are shortcomings."
 
OSCE officials also see the exercise as an opportunity for the organization to demonstrate its own fairness.
 
Many Eastern European nations are frustrated by the OSCE's focus on monitoring elections in emerging democracies, explained Andreas Nothelle, a German parliamentarian who is now an ambassador at the organization's Vienna, Austria, headquarters.
 
"It is important to see the organization applying the same standards to everybody," he said.
 
The program has not been easy to coordinate: The Greek delegation, which won the coveted Fort Lauderdale, Fla., slot, confounded the OSCE by refusing to stay in nonsmoking hotel rooms.
 
The Russians and Kazakhs must monitor elections within driving distance of Washington because their governments cannot afford to fly them around the United States, according to Vitaly Evseyev, a Russian official with the OSCE.
 
There are few concerns about voting plans in North Carolina and Virginia, he added, "but they really want to experience a U.S. election. They're not here to look for trouble."
 
During an intense two-day briefing on the American political system from federal election officials, technocrats, political experts and others, the Europeans received a crash course in U.S. political history and theory, as well as a primer on how complex and expensive the U.S. political process has become.
 
When Federal Election Commission information officer Greg Scott told them that candidates, their political parties and other groups will have spent more than $1 billion on the 2004 campaign, they nodded and frowned.
 
When they heard that the average U.S. congressional candidate raises about $1 million and a senator four times that, they gasped.
 
"It would be impossible to spend that much money in Switzerland," marveled Cleveland observer Barbara Haering, a full-time environmental lawyer and member of Switzerland's part-time parliament, "probably because we are not allowed to advertise on television."
 
The delegates are from Greece, Belgium, Denmark, Cyprus, Sweden, Serbia-Montenegro, Kazakhstan, Romania, Switzerland, France, Malta, Albania, Romania, Norway, Finland, Italy, Russia, Monaco, Belarus, Estonia and Turkey.

OSCE Prepares to Observe U.S. Presidential Election
 
Team will assess how many election observers will come in November.
 
A team from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe's Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (OSCE/ODIHR) is preparing to visit the United States to determine how many observers it will send to monitor the U.S. presidential campaign and the November 2 election, according to the State Department.
 
A reporter asked about the observation mission during the daily State Department briefing August 31. An answer was posted later in the day that explained the OSCE policy of observing elections in established democracies.
 
Following is the text of the answer:

QUESTION: Who is coming from the OSCE? Is Rep. Hastings involved or part of the delegation?
 
ANSWER: A needs assessment team from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Office of [sic] Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) will visit next week. The team will assess how many election observers will come and where in November.
 
Election observation is a standard OSCE practice. All OSCE participating states, including the U.S., agreed in 1990 to a standing explicit invitation to observe the course of each state's national election proceedings. This agreement was reinforced at the 1999 Istanbul OSCE Summit when participating States signed a declaration saying "We will invite observers to our elections from other participating States, the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights, the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and other appropriate institutions and organizations that wish to observe our election proceedings."
 
The team will consist of representatives from the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights and the Parliamentary Assembly. The Department has a facilitative role but does not set the agenda for the assessment team or for the observer group. Observers work following established protocols. Logistics will be coordinated by the Office of Democratic Institutions and Human Rights with state and local governments as is appropriate under our U.S. federal system.
 
Election observers are volunteers who are then confirmed and funded by the participating OSCE governments. OSCE observers do not typically monitor elections in their own country.
 
OSCE states routinely invite observation of each other's elections. Since 2002 the OSCE has organized observer teams within its established democracies, including the French presidential elections (2002), UK (2003), Spanish parliament (2004), and European Parliament (2004). The OSCE also sent observers to Florida in 2002 and to California during the 2003 recall election.
 
Rep. Alcee Hastings (D-FL) is a U.S. delegate to the Parliamentary Assembly, a body that meets as a whole once a year. The U.S. delegation to the Assembly is a bipartisan group of U.S. representatives and senators named by the House and Senate foreign affairs committees and approved by congressional leadership. Rep. Hastings has been active in the Assembly for the last eight years and was elected its President in July 2004. The Assembly fosters dialogue among legislators from the 55 OSCE participant states in Europe, Eurasia and North America.

CBN.com – Tuesday, November 2nd, will be the most important election Americans have had in 50 years. How can that be?

Because up to four of the nine Supreme Court justices will likely retire during the next presidential term, and their replacements will be selected by whoever is the next president. These new judges will affect the future of America for at least the next 40 years. It would be difficult to overestimate the impact that these judges will have on our lives, our families, our culture and the direction of this nation.

Presidents serve for only four years -- eight at the most, so their impact is limited. Supreme Court justices, however, serve for life, and they are the ones who decide on issues like abortion, gay "marriages," human cloning, harvesting babies for stem-cell research, revoking the tax exemption of churches, removing “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance and “In God We Trust” from our money. In most ways, the Supreme Court has far more influence and impact on our day-to-day lives. This extremely important fact has been overlooked in most of the campaigning.

President Bush and Senator Kerry have VERY different opinions about the type of people who should become Supreme Court justices. They could not have more opposite views about these matters, and each man will shape the court in very different ways.

If the members of our congregations fail to vote on Tuesday, we are actually surrendering our responsibility to choose the direction of our country for the next 40 years. If we do not vote, we have no right to criticize or complain when unbiblical decisions are made by the court in the decades ahead.

Over the past several months at Saddleback, we’ve been urging our members each week to register to vote. We even arranged to have a voter registration booth set up on our church patio because we believe it’s that important that every Christian citizen exercise his or her right to vote for those who will govern us.

During the last presidential election in the United States, there were about 4 million Christians who weren’t even registered to vote! To me, that is inexcusable when you consider what the Bible says about our responsibility as citizens and when you consider the many, many men and women who’ve given their lives to provide and protect our freedom to vote.

The U.S. election of 2000 was a clear reminder that every vote counts, and that every voter has a duty to be involved. This point is true whether you are a U.S. citizen or whether you are a citizen of one of the many other countries that follow the principles of democracy.

As church leaders, we know our congregations are not allowed to endorse specific candidates, and it’s important for us to recognize that there can be multiple opinions among Bible-believing Christians when it comes to debatable issues such as the economy, social programs, Social Security, and the war in Iraq.

But for those of us who accept the Bible as God's Word and know that God has a unique, sovereign purpose for every life, I believe there are five issues that are non-negotiable. To me, they’re not even debatable because God's Word is clear on these issues. In order to live a purpose-driven life -- to affirm what God has clearly stated about his purpose for every person he creates -- we must take a stand by finding out what the candidates believe about these five issues, and then vote accordingly.

Here are five questions to ask when considering who to vote for in this election:

1. What does each candidate believe about abortion and protecting the lives of unborn children?

2. What does each candidate believe about using unborn babies for stem-cell harvesting?

3. What does each candidate believe about homosexual "marriage"?

4. What does each candidate believe about human cloning?

5. What does each candidate believe about euthanasia -- the killing of elderly and invalids?

Please, please do not forfeit your responsibility on these crucial issues! This election REALLY counts more than most.

Be sure to vote, and also be sure to encourage every Christian you know to vote on Tuesday. If you are able to vote early, do so. Then ask all your Christian friends on Tuesday, “Have you voted yet?” and pray for godly leaders to be elected.

Stephen, on the one hand it appears that you're pulling for Bush because he's a Christian, but on the other it appears that you favor his re-election because you're being pragmatic, and thus consider him to be the lesser of two evils
 
While driving past a church a few months ago I saw a yard sign that simply read:  THE LESSER OF TWO EVILS IS STILL EVIL.  That message confirmed to me that my vote would go for someone other than either of the two candidates who have monopolized the press, for I consider both of them to be evil to the core.
 
Yes, I'm voting for Peroutka, and I don't consider that my vote will have been wasted.

Bill Middendorf called me to explain that he cannot publicly reveal details about John Kerry’s Other Than Honorable (OTH) Discharge as it would be a violation of the Privacy Act.  He does, however, have complete confidence in Mark Sullivan, who was Bill’s Judge Advocate General
when Bill was Secretary of the Navy, and who has revealed that Kerry’s OTH was expunged by Jimmy Carter.

The story is now up on WorldNetDaily.  For some strange reason, perhaps Matt Drudge's antipathy to the military, Drudge refuses to run it. The New York Sun will carry an article about it, written by Tom Lipscomb, tomorrow.
 
The story of Kerry\'s OTH, breaking on election eve and election day, will have an impact.

A TO THE POINT HEADS-UP

I had a conversation with Bill Middendorf earlier today. Bill was the Secretary of the Navy from April 1974 to January 1978. I got to know Bill well when he was Ronald Reagan\'s Ambassador to the OAS and we worked together on support for the Contras.

Bill has agreed to publicly state that to the best of his knowledge and recollection, John Kerry was dishonorably discharged from the military and fought to have this reversed while he (Bill)was SECNAV, which Bill of course refused to do.   When Carter became president, Kerry secured the honorable discharge from Bill\'s successor.

The OTH (Other Than Honorable) discharge story has been out for a while, but for a former Secretary of the Navy to confirm it is major news. WorldNetDaily will be headlining it, as should the Washington Times tomorrow, and possibly Drudge. For some reason, Drudge, whom Jerry Corsi (coauthor of Unfit for Command) just talked to a few minutes ago, is resisting.

A review of the rolls by the Columbus Dispatch even found a murder victim and two suspected terrorists among the "eligible voters"!

*** In Michigan, Democrats have sued to force "provisional" ballots that are cast in the wrong precinct to be counted, anticipating that their supporters are the ones most likely to head to the wrong place to vote. Michigan Democrats delayed the suit for months and attempted to "railroad" it through the courts at the last minute.

*** In Florida, election officials found 46,000 state residents also registered to vote in New York. The overwhelming number of double registrations were Democratic. The Orlando Sentinel also examined voting records from Florida, Georgia and North Carolina, and found that in more than 68,000 cases voters with the same names and dates of birth were registered in two states.

*** In Pennsylvania, reports indicate that the hyper- partisan Democrat Gov. Ed Rendell and the former Kerry campaign official he just put in charge of monitoring the state's election for problems such as fraud are working overtime to make sure that the votes of some 16,000 military voters aren't counted. As polls show roughly 75 percent of the military vote is likely to go to Pres. Bush, this represents a clear attempt to deny Bush as many as 12,000 votes in that state.

*** In Alabama, counties have a big backlog of last- minute registrations that were brought in by "outside" organizations, and discrepancies in the records have left officials unsure how many voters are actually on the rolls. Last week, the director of the office of voter registration resigned after she couldn't explain the discrepancies.

*** In Nevada, litigants supported with cash from the Democratic party went to court and tried to re-open voter registration when it looked like there weren't enough new Democrat voters registering.

*** In Illinois, members of the military received absentee ballots that failed to even LIST George W. Bush and Dick Cheney!


In addition, the Kerry campaign acknowledges that they have 10,000 lawyers ready to swoop into any "close" states to contest any election results they don't like.

NO, I am voting for Bush because I believe in him.  I voted for Buchanan in 1996 and 2000 for the same reason, even though I knew he would lose.  As for the Constitution Party, they have failed to deliver anything credible.  Great platform but no marketing, no sincere desire to win as far as I can tell.  If I saw real substance to their ideals, I might see it differently.  Stephen

[This is absolutely fascinating. The original quotes are about the USA
and they are from: Alexis de Tocqueville. He wrote this in 1838. The
writer below is an Israeli Right Wing Thinker. His comments are most
interesting - but they apply to the USA too.

There is an addendum of my own I'd like to add. In ancient times,
Carthage and Rome engaged in a great clash which eventually resulted in
the Romans winning. Not many people may realise this but Carthage back
then was much like the USA - a commercial empire where people had no
value for patriotism. In the end, it was the Romans, with their patriotic
attitude who one. The Carthaginians had one of the finest generals of all
time - Hannibal - who invaded Italy and struck to the heart of Rome. At

Carthaginians never once sent him reinforcements, nor appreciated a
fraction of what he did.

Eventually, the Romans invaded north Africa and defeated and destroyed

Romans had.

Today, the Western world is filled with people who think that money is

“Revolution”

Whenever I go to the States, someone inevitably asks me, “Why hasn’t
there been a revolution in Israel?”  The questioner usually adds, “We
Americans would never tolerate a Government that would surrender our land
to any regime, and nor would any other self-respecting country.”

So I refer him to Alexis de Tocqueville’s 1838 classic Democracy in
America, which explains why democracies rarely engage in revolution.
The primary reason is this.  The principle of inequality underlies almost
every revolution, which principle, however, is lacking in a democracy.
And even if one maintains, as does the present writer, that Israel is not
an authentic democracy, nevertheless this country has a democratic
mentality.  This mentality is fostered by equality of conditions, in
consequence of which no one is tied to the station of his birth, and
anyone may, in principle, ascend the economic and political scale.

Moreover, like most democracies, Israel is a middle class society.  Most
people possess sufficient property to the desire the maintenance of
order.  “Not only,” says de Tocqueville, “are the men of democracies not
naturally desirous of revolutions, but they are afraid of them.  All
revolutions more or less threaten the tenure of property; but most of
those who live in democratic countries … not only possess property, but
they live in the condition where men set the greatest store upon their
property.”

Furthermore, commercial societies – and Israel is a commercial society --
are the most opposed to revolution.   “Commerce,” says de Tocqueville,
“is naturally adverse to violent passions; it loves to temporize, takes
delight in compromise … is patient, flexible, and never has recourse to
extreme measures until obliged by the most absolute necessity.”

The great French philosopher probes even deeper. “It will rarely happen
to any man in a democratic community suddenly to frame a system of
notions very remote from that which his contemporaries have adopted; and
if some such innovator appeared, I apprehend that he would have great
difficulty in finding listeners, still more in finding believers.  When
the conditions of men are almost equal, they do not easily allow
themselves to be persuaded by one another.  As they all live in close
intercourse, as they have learned the same things together, and as they
lead the same life, they are not naturally disposed to take one of
themselves for a guide and to follow him implicitly.”

In other words, deference is not to be expected in egalitarian democratic
societies.  Indeed, “Not only is confidence in the superior attainments
of certain individuals weakened among democratic nations … but the
general notion of the intellectual superiority which any man whatsoever
may acquire in relation to the rest of the community is soon
overshadowed.   As men grow more like each other, the doctrine of the
equality of the intellect gradually infuses itself into their opinions,
and it becomes more difficult for any innovators to acquire or to exert
much influence over the minds of a people.”

De Tocqueville had mixed feelings about the improbability of revolutions
in democracies.  As equality of conditions becomes so manifest and the
love of property so ardent, “I cannot but fear that men may arrive at
such a state as to regard every new theory as a peril, every innovation
as an irksome toil, and every social improvement as a stepping-stone to
revolution, and so refuse to move altogether for fear of being moved too
far.  I dread, I confess it, lest they should at last so entirely give
way to a cowardly love of present enjoyment as to lose sight of the
interests of their future selves and those of their descendants and
prefer to glide along the easy current of life rather than to make, when
it is necessary, a strong and sudden effort to a higher purpose.”

To all this my American interlocutors would say:  “But your very survival
is at stake when your Government surrenders Israel’s strategic assets to
the PLO.  What is the relevance to Israel of de Tocqueville’s admittedly
brilliant analysis when you have some 230,000 Jews in Judea and Samaria
who face ethnic cleansing, as well as the prospect of a hostile Arab
state within a stone’s throw of your population centers?”

To this I respond by saying that de Tocqueville’s analysis is fully
applicable to Israel, and rendered more so by certain traits of the
Jewish people!  But not to leave my interlocutors in despair, I point out
that the Jewish Sages foresaw the impact of democracy on Israel, but held
that democracy is a necessary but passing stage of Israel’s complete
redemption.  Democracy, with its indiscriminate egalitarianism or
nihilism, will be the gravedigger of Western civilization, and with its
passing, Israel will come into its own.

No doubt this will not leave most readers satisfied.  But one should not
expect more from a brief article.

1. Introduction
This document was designed with the following in mind:
• To educate the public
• To assist the public in recognising what a suspicious vehicle and
person may look like
• To emphasise the seriousness of hijackings on the person reading this
awareness guide.
Hijacking is not a new or unique problem to South Africa.
The first hijacking was recorded in 1984.
Between January and August 1996, there were 8 740 hijackings in South
Africa, of which 5 251 were in Gauteng.
Hijacking is also not only a problem just associated with industrial
areas; e.g. Wadeville in Germiston, but rather a problem associated with
the availability of a certain vehicle.
In 90% of these cases the hijackers were armed, although only 1% of
attacks involved a fatal shooting. This means that the better prepared a
potential victim is, the greater probability of the person surviving the
attack with limited physical injury.

2. How to Avoid a Hijack Situation
2.1 Take Precautions:
• Be familiar with your environment.
• Get to know who belongs in the vicinity of your home or workplace, and
who does not.
• Keep your eyes open for anything out of the ordinary.
• Lock all doors and close windows before driving off.
• Try to vary your route to work, the gym – all places you travel to
regularly.
• Hijackers are professionals too; they plan their attacks carefully.
• Ensure all your mirrors are adjusted to give you an optimal all-round
view of your surroundings.
• Try to stop about 5m behind the car in front of you at a stop sign or
traffic light – it makes for an easy getaway if trouble arises.

2.2 Don’t Be Fooled By:
• False appeals for help.
• “Accidents” such as having you car rammed from behind.
• Someone trying to get help from a stationary car.
• your electric gates being jammed

2.3 Know Your Environment:
• If approached by a stranger while in your car, drive off if possible
and/or use your hooter to attract attention.
• Be constantly on the lookout for suspicious looking characters or
vehicles and do not hesitate to report!them to the Police.
• Always be on the guard for potential danger, and be on the lookout for
possible escape routes and safe refuge along the way.
• If your suspicions are aroused by any person or vehicle in a high-risk
area, treat it as hostile and take appropriate action (i.e. Ignore a red
robot if it is safe to drive through; turn off and speed away from the
perceived danger zone) and call for assistance where necessary.
• Always have your identity document and driver’s license on your person;
and a pen and notepad ready to make necessary notes.
• If possible, avoid driving in the dark. Hijackers may stage a minor
accident; e.g. If your car is bumped from behind and you do not feel
comfortable with the individual/s involved in the situation, drive to the
nearest Police Station for help.
• Never open your vehicle window or door for any stranger. If a
suspicious person is near your unoccupied car, do not approach the
vehicle. Keep walking to the nearest public area and ask for assistance.

3. How to reduce the risk
While there is no guarantee what action will prevent hijacking,
practising the following common sense techniques can reduce the risk:
3.1 When Entering Your Vehicle and While Driving:
• Have your key ready, but not visible.
• Inspect the outside and inside of the vehicle before unlocking.
• Know your destination and directions to it, and be careful should you
get lost.
• Always drive with your windows and doors locked and/or closed.
• Make a mental note of any Police Stations in the vicinity while
driving.
• When dropping a passenger off, make sure that they are safely in their
own vehicles before departing.
• Avoid driving through high crime or unfamiliar areas.
• Avoid driving late at night at/or the early hours of the morning when
the roads are quiet.
• Drive in the centre lane away from pedestrians where possible.
• If possible, never drive alone.
• NEVER, EVER pick up hitchhikers.
• Never follow routine routes when driving; change on a regular basis.
• Do not leave windows open more than 5 cm.
3.2 When Parking Your Vehicle:
• Check rear-view mirror to ensure that you are not being followed.
• When returning home after dark, ensure that there is an outside light
on, or have someone meet you at the door.
• When exiting your vehicle, be cautious and aware of surrounding
obstructions and shrubbery that may be concealing a hijacker.
• Never sit in your parked car without being conscious of your
surroundings. Sleeping in a stationery vehicle is particularly dangerous.

• When approaching your driveway, be on the lookout for suspicious
vehicles/persons.

4. What is a suspicious vehicle/person?
A suspicious vehicle/person is a vehicle/person that acts in a manner
which may seem to be unusual or strange.
EXAMPLES:
4.1 Vehicles
You are driving from your home; a new vehicle follows you for thirty
minutes staying in the same lane as you, taking the same turn-offs as
you.
If this vehicle has an old registration number e.g. HSG 090 T, the
registration number is false, as all new cars should now have new Gauteng
numbers plates.
The most important fact to remember while driving a motor vehicle is to
be closed at all times. This is why the K53 driving method of driving is
beneficial since the method concentrates a lot on the regular use of rear
view mirrors.
4.2 Persons
A suspicious person can be any person that you feel acts in a strange
manner. The problem with suspicious persons is that there are no
distinguishing features. Hijackers come in any form or shape. Colour,
race, sex or age are not distinguishing features.
The best way to identify a suspicious person is to see all unknown
persons as being suspicious.

5. Questions and Answers
5.1 WHEN AM I THE MOST VULNERABLE?

5.2 WHO ARE THESE HIJACKERS ?
To date, the overwhelming proportion of all the hijackers have been men,
and occasionally women. operating in groups of four or five, sometimes
more. The hijackers tend to be very young, in their teens and early
twenties, although some victims report!the presence of a ‘team leader’
who seemed older. Women are being used to lull potential victims into a
false sense of security, since most of us feel less threatened in the
presence of a woman as opposed to a man.
These people are sometimes well dressed, but not always. They may wear a
jacket or jersey under which they may conceal weapons, mostly handguns
and knives, but occasionally AK47 assault rifles.
The hijackers operate from motorcars, although they have been known to
attack on foot. The cars they use vary, but are normally high performance
vehicles, sometimes with tinted windows. Their driving habits are
immediately suspicious. Before an attack they may cruise slowly around a
particular area (often for days before the attack) without any apparent
sense of purpose or specific direction. They may also simply sit in the
car parked off the road or in a parking garage. Immediately after an
attack, their driving patterns change dramatically. They will speed off,
driving perhaps nervously and recklessly, but often with an air of
bravado as if enjoying or flaunting publicly their total disregard for
the law and the innocent person they have just attacked. They might
ignore red traffic lights, jump stop streets and weave in and out through
traffic, especially on motorways. This renders them highly visible to the
public and this is where private citizens can play a vital role in
assisting these people’s arrest.
The police are urging citizens to make use of the 10111 telephone number
if they find themselves in a hijack situation. It is also open to anyone
who sees a suspicious looking vehicle either following them or loitering
around the neighbourhood.

5.3 ARE THERE DIFFERENT TYPES OF HIJACKING ?
• The “Freight” hijacking, in which a commercial vehicle is hijacked, is
not only to secure the vehicle, but also its cargo, which can be of
substantial value. Frequently, the cargo is of more interest to the
hijacker than the truck.
• The “Transport” hijacking, in which the vehicle is taken for the
express purpose of using as transport!during other crimes such as drug
trafficking, burglaries, bank robberies and gun running. The vehicles are
probably later cannibalised for spare parts or simply dumped.
• The “Showmanship” hijacking, in which a gang operates out of
egotistical bravado, acting on the “this is a cool thing to be doing”
rationale. Peer group pressure is very high and individuals may be
coerced into more dangerous and daredevil approaches, being labelled as a
‘sissy’ if they do not. Thus intimidation, violence and vandalism is
associated with the crime.
• The “Operational” hijacking, in which a group formally work together in
a more structured way. They usually have experience in car theft and have
established contact within the motorcar underworld who will receive and
pay cash for stolen vehicles or spare parts. They also often have
information with regards to the international black market, e.g. The
movement of stolen cars into South Africa’s neighbouring states.
• The “Syndicate” hijacking, which is the most organised of all and often
has international connections. A network of hijacking groups is
established with the overall co-ordinator syndicating out work so that he
remains out of view in exactly the same way as the “drug barons” use
pushers. This makes identifying and arresting the ultimate boss very
difficult.
Additionally, a syndicate is often backed by a lot of money, especially
if there are international links and makes full use of any potential to
bribe the authorities in order to protect their operations.

5.4 WHAT PREVENTATIVE MEASURES CAN I TAKE REGARDING MY PROPERTY?
• Ensure that anyone leaving your property can get into their car, start
it, lock the doors and be fully prepared to drive off before the gates
are opened. Consciously think about this every time someone leaves your
premises.
• If possible, ensure that anyone leaving you premises can do so without
having to reverse into the road. Reversing forces one to concentrate on
the driving and not what lies outside the gate. It also greatly reduces
visibility.
• If your visitors have to park in the street, escort them out on foot
and check that the road is clear for them. If you have dogs, take them
with you, especially after dark.
• Ensure that your gate and driveway are well lit after dark. Replace
fused light bulbs immediately.
• Ensure that the number of your house is clearly visible at all times,
night or day.
• Install electrically operated gates – consider these now a necessity
rather than a luxury.
• If you have electric gates and a buzzer system, ensure that visitors
can reach the buzzer without having to get out of their cars.
• At the home, when someone rings the bell and you have established that
the person can enter your property, do not leave them stationary waiting
outside for longer than is absolutely necessary.
• Either do not leave you property or hesitate to drive away from it if
you spot a suspicious looking person or car in your immediate vicinity
• Be particularly carefully if you live in a cul de sac, given their
single point of entry and exit. More and more residents are reverting to
closing off cul de sacs and employing a guard at the entrance. However,
when considering this, do not forget to liaise with the City Council.
• When driving, avoid wearing flashy jewellery, heavy gold chains, large
dangling earrings, gold watches, or anything that can be easily seen from
a distance by a casual passer-by.
• Never leave any important documents in your car, i.e. cheque books,
bank statements, invoices, telephone accounts, credit cards, keys, remote
controls or personal post, anything that may provide personal details,
either while stationary or driving.
• Vehicle tracking: the only solution to vehicle related crimes is to
have tracking systems installed.

5.5 HOW SHOULD I RESPOND IN THE EVENT OF BEING HIJACKED?
• No matter how outraged you may feel at the time, your prime objective
must be to look after your personal safety and that of your passengers.
The preservation of human life must take precedence over material assets.

• Do nothing that is going to alarm the hijackers. Never initiate any
movement yourself. This may give the hijacker the impression that you are
reaching for a gun or panic button. Remember – the hijackers will be as
nervous, if not more so, than you. Do not motion with your hands. Rather
tell the hijackers where they can find the items. Keep you hands clearly
visible and as still as possible, ideally at chest level. Do not raise
them above your head as the hijackers may interpret this as you trying to
attract the attention of a third party.
• Answer any Questions truthfully especially with regard to firearms. If
the hijacker finds out or suspects that you have lied to him, he is more
likely to turn violent and unleash his frustrations on you physically.
• Even in your shocked and terrified state, try to listen to and
understand exactly what they hijackers want from you.
• Try to concentrate on the possibility of identifying your attackers at
a later stage. But remember – this does not mean staring at your
attackers, making it obvious that you are looking for a means of
identifying them. Stare openly at them and they will be less willing to
release you, as they will think that you have incriminating evidence
against them.
• If they kidnap you – co-operate with them fully. If you have a baby
sleeping in the back seat which they may not have noticed, tell the
attackers. Tell them that driving away with your child is only going to
make things more difficult for them. Ask them if they can fetch your
child. Do not move towards the car without their explicit directive. Tell
them that a baby means them no harm and is no threat. Do the same if you
have a pet in the car. Do not push the issue to the point where your life
may be threatened at the expense of a pet.

The form of tyranny sometimes described as "democratic despotism" (it

Economists [the socialists of the 18th century] well before the
Revolution.  They were for abolishing all hierarchies, all class
distinctions, all differences of ranks, and the nation was to be composed
of individuals almost exactly alike and unconditionally equal.  In this
undiscriminated mass was to reside, theoretically, the sovereign power
[i.e., the people]; yet it was to be carefully deprived of any means of
controlling or even supervising the activities of its own government.
For above it was a single authority, its mandatory, which was entitled to
do anything and everything without consulting it.  This authority could
not be controlled by public opinion since public opinion had no means of
making itself heard; the State was a law unto itself and nothing short of
revolution could break its tyranny.  De jure it was a subordinate agent;
de facto a master.

We really do not know what to make of recent rumors about Teresa
Heinz Kerry, though that is not all this post touches on it is a
good bit of it.

First the rumors, whether they are fact or fiction we cannot say.
Perhaps you, dear reader, can investigate them yourself. Before you
do and
before you read further you should know that we are not connected to
any
campaign or candidate or organization or group though we do hope
that Kerry
loses and Bush wins.

On December 28th, 1997 The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
ran a page one story claiming that Teresa Heinz was a lesbian, which
may bring some sense of perspective to the Kerry-Edwards campaign
all-out pre-
emptive
attack on Vice President Cheney's daughter, who was called a lesbian
by
Kerry himself, in his final 2004 Presidential debate with President
Bush.
Kerry may also have felt that Republicans might seek to use his vote
against
DOMA, the Defense of Marriage Act, to portray him as anti-marriage,
perhaps
even as anti-heterosexual. Hence another possible reason for
the Kerry-Edwards campaign attack on Vice President Cheney's

Dick Cheney knows that quite well, as he told Tim Russert on Meet
The Press on NBC TV on September 8th, 2002:

amongst the al-Qaeda cells around the world?

anniversary dates during the course of the year, the anniversary
when U.S. troops first went into Saudi Arabia, the various
anniversaries crop up. Now, as I say, to date, not much has happened
in that respect, although we did see just this week the Germans
arrested two individuals planning, apparently, to set off a major
explosion at U.S. European Command in Heidelberg, Germany. Now, was
that al-Qaeda related? We don't know yet, but there is a temptation
I think for terrorists to try to stage events that hark back to
historically significant dates. And I wouldn't be at all surprised
if that's the case here. I'm not saying something is going to happen

It is good that Dick Cheney knew that. Cheney was in the White House

What is really bizarre about the two Kerry quotes above from the

concluded series of Presidential Debates is that Kerry was vague

Just as the nation was warming to his craggy sincerity, the question
is
percolating: Did Sen. John Kerry trade in his Abe Lincolnhood for
some Hollywood
hocus-pocus, smoothing his signature facial furrows with a few
discreet pokes of
a Botox needle?
"He has absolutely, absolutely not had Botox treatments. You'd think
his
opponents would have something else to talk about besides John
Kerry's looks,"
his spokeswoman, Stephanie Cutter, said yesterday.
But those before-and-after photos of the Massachusetts Democrat,
transformed
from melancholy hound dog to svelte leading man, were displayed in
living color
at the Drudge Report (www.drudgereport.com) and elsewhere. ...
The photos certainly cast a wrinkle on things.
"I'm telling you, I always thought the mortician did a great job
with John
Kerry," Comedy Central's Colin Quinn joked yesterday. "But I didn't
know that
Botox could mix with embalming fluid. Frankly, I like just the
embalming fluid.
It gives a nicer look."
Mr. Quinn paused momentarily to envision the new and improved
presidential
hopeful.

Medical Experts: John Kerry Received Botox Treatments
From an article dated January 29, 2004, by Alexandra Wolfe in the
New York
Observer:

"He's definitely gotten Botox," said Dr. Michael Kane, the Manhattan-
based
plastic surgeon and author of The Botox Book. Sen. Kerry, the doctor
explained,
"has certain facial motions, characteristic expressions that he
makes all the
time. Like when he frowns, he tends to push the center of his
eyebrows up. It's
a trademark of John Kerry's — and he just can't make that happen
now," said Dr.
Kane. "That's the look that's normally plastered on his face and it
never
happened once on his victory speech."
Indeed, Dr. Kane suggested that Sen. Kerry might seek a second
opinion. "What
he's got isn't Botox, it's bad Botox," the doctor said. "He has what
I call the
classic rookie mistake which is, in a man who has a lot of
horizontal lines on
his forehead, the botox is overdone in the person's forehead. It
changes normal
emotions, facial expressions; now his eyebrows are incredibly low
because
someone has over-injected them. His forehead is bizarrely smooth,
his eyebrows
now sit right on his eyes and if you look at the Drudge Report
pictures he now
has classic bunny lines." He explained that "bunny lines"
happen "when so many
muscles are over paralyzed" that the Botox recipient begins to rely
on "the
unusual muscles on the sides of his nose, making those little
scrunchy lines on
his nose — so he looks like a bunny."


Surveying the "Before" and "After" shots of Mr. Kerry that were
posted, along
with the WRKO soundbite, on Matt Drudge's website, New Jersey
plastic surgeon
Barry Citron let out a whoop and exclaimed, "That's definitely the
most
effective $600 he could spend on his campaign!" That would be the
cost of the
30-40 units of Botox that Dr. Citron guessed Mr. Kerry would have
needed to
smooth the expanse above his eyes.
"I'm willing to bet that between the beginning of Iowa and end of
New Hampshire
he had some Botox done," said Dr. Michael Sachs. The Manhattan-based
plastic
surgeon said he could tell because Mr. Kerry looked much less
haggard last
Tuesday night than he did in Iowa, and because, he added: "His
eyebrows didn't
move."

Dr. Sachs, explained that Botox, which is created from the botulinum
toxin type
A (there are seven different types), starts working its muscle-
relaxing magic in
three to five days, peaks at two weeks and lasts between three to
five months.

"Down the road, he may look even more relaxed and his eyebrows may
droop even
more," Dr. Sachs explained. Come convention time in July, however,
the candidate
will need a booster shot.

One plastic surgeon, Manhattan's Dr. Patricia Wexler, disagreed with
the pack.
"No, I don't believe he has," she said. "Much more is being made out
of this
than reality. It's the vertical lines" — she called them "scowl
lines" — "that
are considered negative, and I don't think he's had those done." Dr.
Wexler then
recommended that all politicans have their scowl lines removed. "It
would've
done Gore or Dole good to get rid of them," she said. Her diagnosis
of Sen.
Kerry: "He's more relaxed because he's been winning," she said.

Or was Mr. Kerry winning because he looked relaxed? Hamptons
cosmetic surgeon
Dr. Bruce Nadler opined that Mr. Kerry's new look was responsible
for his win in
New Hampshire. "The issues are 50 percent, but voters are also
looking for
someone who is likeable, who has a calming influence. He has a more
relaxed look
whereas you'd expect him to look more haggard, more tired as this
campaign
grinds away," said Dr. Nadler. "If Edwards is so much younger and
winning votes
as a result, and that's going to sway the crowd, Kerry thinks, `If
this other
guy has a youthful look, then youthful looks are going to help me. I
could win
over some of his supporters if I look a little more youthful as
well.' It's a
campaign strategy. Look at poor Joe Lieberman, he's not doing very
well, maybe
he looks a little too senior."

Whatever the case, Sen. Kerry's press secretary David Wade, sounded
flabbergasted by the accusations. "John Kerry has not had botox
treatments," Mr.
Wade wrote in an email. "And since when do plastic surgeons make
diagnoses from
Drudge Report photos? While it's amazing how two big victories in
Iowa and New
Hampshire can put a smile on your face, it's equally astounding how
desperation
leads our opponents to invent accusations. They can't run against
John Kerry on
health care, education, or national security, so they're attacking
his looks."

Of course, in New York, a town where plastic surgery ranks right up
there with
cable and psychotherapy on urbanites' necessity lists, what's really
driving the
did-he-or-didn't-he? debate is whether Sen. Kerry lied about
something as minor
as a question about his physical upkeep. As Dr. Kane observed: "If
it becomes an
issue it goes right to his credibility."

But New York-based political campaign consultant Hank Sheinkopf
explained why a
presidential candidate might not be eager to admit he's a
primper. "I don't
think this country is ready for the Botox president yet,." said Mr.
Sheinkopf,
who was a member of Bill Clinton's media team from `95 to `96 and
has helped
elect numerous New York politicians such as Bill Thompson and Betsy
Gotbaum. "I
can't imagine the president having facial peels every month or having
electrolysis. His problem is to be man enough to convince the Reagan
Democrats
in the Midwest, and Botox ain't gonna help!"

There's been a lot of publicity about possible side effects of Botox
lately,
though mostly when it's used for cosmetic reasons or if it's not
injected
correctly.
There's one that is so rare it's hardly mentioned & I had to call the
manufacturer to find out they do see it occassionally.

After my first injections, I got a slight rash on my eyelids. My
eyelids were
dry & itchy & red, but not too bad & I just covered it with make-up
& it went
away after a couple of months.

After my second injections, within a couple of days, my eyes swelled
almost shut
& the rash was so red it was purple. It looked (& felt) like I had a
sunburn on
my eyelids. They hurt so bad & were so dry, they felt like they
would crumble &
fall off! Have you ever left a contact out of solution for a day &
how it
shrivels & dries out -- that's what my eyelids felt like.

Everyone at the doctor's office looked at them & said the exact same
thing -- oh
my gosh, that looks so painful! I got so tired of hearing that!

My neuro went back & looked through records & it had happened to one
other
patient over a year ago at her office (another doctor had done the
injections),
so we called the manufacturer & it does happen occassionally. They
think it's
from the albumin that is in the solution that comes from a donor.

Hydrocortisone gel cleared it up within a couple of days & they gave
me
prednisone to have on hand, just in case my eyes swell all the way
closed.

Next time (yes, I'm still getting Botox again), I'll start using the
hydrocortisone gel the day I get the injections & the neuro will
inject as far
from my eyes as she can.

I just wanted everyone that gets Botox or is considering it to know
that is a
possible & very rare side effect."

I have suffered from debilitating pain since having Botox for

in the early 1900s, had two additional children, Richard and
Mildred, and earned
a reputation as good neighbors. The local newspaper deemed
Fredrick "a prominent
man in the shoe business"; his shop was located at 487 Boylston

Back Bay neighborhood of Boston. He seldom missed attending Catholic
church
services on Sunday. (He kept it secret that he was of Jewish
descent.) With a
two-story, Arts and Crafts-style house in Brookline — designed by
John C.
Spofford — located at 10 Downing Road, a black Cadillac parked in
front and
three healthy children running happily about, it seemed, to the
outside world,
that the Kerry family exemplified the American dream.That notion was

dispelled on November 23, 1921, when a depressed Fred Kerry wandered
into the
Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, walked into the men's room, and shot
himself in

Nor is this sort of thing new to politics. One typical dirty trick

more than once in American politics has been the use of the word
thespian, which to some less than well educated Americans sounds
more than a bit like lesbian.

best remembered for something that never happened.

combatant
to becoming someone who met with the enemy and could not care less
about
who the enemy might murder. This writer was an anti-war activist
during the
Indochina war period years before Kerry decided to switch sides and
meet
with America's enemy. Had this writer been in the interview I would
have said
that we need to talk about evacuating any potential victims of a
blood-bath,
I would not have said that "to talk about four or five thousand
people is lunacy." Lives matter. Saving lives is important. Kerry
could not care less.

Kerry and the Paris Peace Talks

In June 1971, Le Duc Tho arrived in Paris to join the North
Vietnamese Communist
delegation to the peace talks. His arrival marked a sea change in the
Communists' approach to advancing their goals via negotiations. Le
Duc Tho was
with Ho Chi Minh one of the original founders of the Communist Party
of
Indochina, one of North Vietnam's chief strategists.

He arrived to join a comrade, Madame Nguyen Thi Binh, who had been a
member of
the Central Committee for the National Front for the Liberation of
the South,
and was now Foreign Minister of the Provisional Revolutionary
Government (PRG)
of South Vietnam. The military arm of the PRG was widely known as the
Viet Cong,
just as Madame Binh was widely recognized as the Viet Cong delegate
to the
conference.

On July 1, 1971, within days of Le Duc Tho's arrival, Madame Binh
advanced a new
7-Point Proposal to end the war. Central to this plan was a cleverly
crafted
provision offering to set a date for the return of U.S. prisoners of
war in
exchange for the Americans setting a date for complete, unilateral
military
withdrawal from Vietnam. In other words, America could have her POWs
back only
if we would agree we lost, surrender, and set a date to leave.

About one year earlier, two young Americans had also come to Paris,
arguably for
their honeymoon -- John Kerry, a young, clean-shaven Navy war
veteran,
accompanied by his new wife, the former Julia Thorne, whose lineage
traced back
to George Washington.

But honeymooning was not John Kerry's only purpose in traveling to
Paris.
Kerry's presidential campaign has now acknowledged that he "talked
privately
with a leading communist representative" there.

On April 22, 1971, as he testified before Senator Fulbright's
Committee on
Foreign Relations, John Kerry mentioned that in Paris he had meetings
with "both
sides" of the Paris Peace Talks. The strong likelihood is that John
Kerry also
met with Le Duc Tho, or some other representative of the North
Vietnamese
delegation, in addition to Madame Binh who was in Paris representing
the PRG.
There is no reason to assume John Kerry had any interest in meeting
with
representatives of the other two sides in the Peace Talks -- the
United States
or South Vietnam.

Madame Binh's proposal was carefully crafted to send a strong
emotional message
to the American home front; that the only barrier to having our POWs
returned
was America's own unwillingness to set a date to withdraw -- even if
the
proposed withdrawal amounted to a defeat. The 7-Point Proposal
directly
challenged the South Vietnamese proposal to set a date for a truce
and a free
election designed to reunify Vietnam. The PRG and the Viet Cong
clearly agreed
with the Premier of Communist China, Cho En-lai that complete
withdrawal of
American military forces from Vietnam was the only precondition that
would be
discussed.

On July 22, 1971, John Kerry called a press conference in Washington,
D.C.
Speaking on behalf of Vietnam Veterans Against the War (VVAW), Kerry
openly
urged President Nixon to accept Madame Binh's 7-Point plan. As the
New York
Times noted the following day, John Kerry suggested that President
Nixon had
refused to set a date for withdrawal because North Vietnam had not
guaranteed
the return of American POWs. Now that the Vietnamese Communists were
promising
to set a POW return date, Kerry argued that Nixon had no reasonable
course left,
except to set a date for withdrawing US military forces. Kerry failed
to mention
one consideration President Nixon most likely found compelling --
that America's
cause was just and that the interests of freedom might best be served
halting
the spread of Communism in Southeast Asia. The U.S., in President
Nixon's view,
had not fought the war to abandon our allies to Communism but to
defend South
Vietnam's right to self-determination.

Today, presidential candidate John Kerry would have us believe that
the only
goal of his anti-war activities was to speak up bravely against a war
he knew to
be without justification. All he wanted to do was to stop a war where
military
policies such as free fire zones, the issuance of .50 caliber machine
guns to
Swift Boats, and tactics such as search-and-destroy led inevitably to
war
crimes, the killing of innocent civilians and the burning of peaceful
villages.

John Kerry today wants us to believe that he has always been an anti-
Communist.
Yet the historical record raises questions about that claim. Loyal
Americans
think twice about violating the legal provision against negotiating
with foreign
powers (18 U.S.C. 953) and the Constitutional prohibition against
giving support
to our nation's enemies during wartime (Article III, Section 3).
Anti-
Communists
do not openly support proposals that amount to an American surrender
to
Communist enemies in time of war.

John Kerry may believe in his own mind that his participation in the
anti-war
cause lifted him to a new moral plane, one where he would not be
restricted by
conventional legal distinctions or common-sense understandings of
patriotism.
Yet the record shows that Kerry and the VVAW consistently coordinated
their
efforts with Communists, both foreign and domestic, represented their
positions,
and repeated their grossly exaggerated claims of American atrocities.
In fact,
it is hard to find any disagreement whatsoever between Kerry's words
and actions
as a leader of the VVAW and those of the Hanoi and Vietcong
leadership. Had
Madame Binh herself been permitted to testify before that Senate
committee in
place of John Kerry, the most noticeable difference might have been
the absence
of a Boston accent.

The chilling news reported on August
11th, 2004 that arab terrorists are
planning major assassinations to
disrupt the U.S. Presidential
elections is one more reason for

Kerry showed on the night of October 13th, 2004, in the Bush-Kerry
Presidential debate that he could care less about Dick and Lynne
Cheney's
daughter and her right to privacy. To Kerry that young woman became
a pawn
in the game, like the four or five thousand people he could not have
cared
less about being slaughtered in Vietnam.
In the same debate,not content to just bash lesbians,and to drag the
Cheney family's daughter into the debate, Kerry went on to slander
Italian-Americans. Kerry said: "Being lectured by the President...is
a little bit like Tony Soprano talking to me about law and order in
this country."

Hearing that line from Kerry was a little bit like deja vu all over
again.
In the September 25, 1988 debate, which was The First Bush-Dukakis
Presidential Debate Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis described
Vice President George Herbert Walker Bush as follows:
"(Bush)wants to spend a lot of money on additional programs. If he
keeps this up, he's going to be the Joe Isuzu of American politics."

Bush Says Kerry's Using Old Dean Lines

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - President Bush (news - web sites) on Tuesday
accused rival
John Kerry (news - web sites) of changing positions on the Iraq
(news - web
sites) war by adopting the language of one-time presidential
candidate Howard
Dean (news - web sites) when Kerry called the conflict "the wrong
war in the
wrong place at the wrong time."


Kerry's criticism came Monday during a campaign stop. Dean had used
such
phrasing in early 2003 when he was the Democratic candidate most
critical of the
war. At the time, Kerry took a more moderate stand, criticizing the
president
for failing to build a broader coalition of allies but not
condemning the war
altogether.


Kerry "woke up yesterday morning with yet another new position, and
this one's
not even his own; it is that of his one-time rival, Howard Dean,"
Bush told
thousands of supporters Tuesday at a rally in the Kansas City
suburbs.


Bush said Kerry "even used the same words Howard Dean did back when
he
supposedly disagreed with him ... Senator Kerry flip-flops. We were
right to
make America safer by removing Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)
from power."


In February 2003, Dean was a little-known candidate for the
Democratic
nomination when he said Bush was focused on "the wrong war at the
wrong time"
concerning Iraq. The month before Dean's remarks, Sen. Edward M.
Kennedy (news,
bio, voting record), D-Mass., used a similar phrase when he said, "I
continue to
be convinced that this is the wrong war at the wrong time."
"Joseph Biden's Plagiarism; Michael Dukakis's 'Attack Video' – 1988
Democratic presidential candidate Joseph R. Biden Jr., a U.S.
senator from
Delaware, was driven from the nomination battle after delivering,
without
attribution, passages from a speech by British Labor party leader
Neil Kinnock.
A barrage of subsidiary revelations by the press also contributed to
Biden's
withdrawal: a serious plagiarism incident involving Biden during his
law school
years; the senator's boastful exaggerations of his academic record
at a New
Hampshire campaign event; and the discovery of other quotations in
Biden's
speeches pilfered from past Democratic politicians.

The controversy became two frenzies in one when it was disclosed
that the
campaign of Massachusetts Gov. Michael S. Dukakis had earlier
secretly
distributed to several news media outlets an "attack video"
juxtaposing the
Biden and Kinnock speeches and revealing Biden's word theft. The
Dukakis
campaign at first stonewalled and denied any part in the tape's
distribution,
but when the truth emerged Dukakis was forced to fire his campaign
manager, John
Sasso, and political director, Paul Tully – the two who had
orchestrated the
maneuver. Dukakis himself insisted he had no prior knowledge of
their actions,
and though wounded, his candidacy survived the incident."

Whether it is Teresa Heinz Kerry's mean spirited comments about
Laura Bush
or the "fair game" comment: "

Cheney's sexuality "fair game" in a post-debate interview with Fox
News Wednesday night (October 13th, 2004)." it is clear that the
desperate
Kerry campaign seems to be exploring new depths to plunge into on an
almost
hourly basis. We think that these comments add up to more than slips
of the
lips of Cahill, Heinz-Kerry, Kerry himself, Edwards, and Mrs.
Edwards.
We think they were all quite deliberate and malicious. They show a
willingness
to betray key constituencies, like lesbians and homosexuals if their
finger
in the political wind dictates that Kerry appear to be anti-lesbian
to win
blue-collar Reagan Democrats over in the Rust Belt and Pennsylvania.
Jimmy Carter did a similar thing in the 1976 Pennsylvania Democratic
Presidential Primary when he declared his affinity for "ethnic
purity",
in an appeal to George Wallace racist types.
"Sasso came up with five reasons for the Dukakis loss. Most are
still very
instructive.

"First," Sasso said, "we did not, to my mind, properly or
convincingly, make the
case for change.

"Second, it is politically dangerous to take for granted that voters
will
automatically assume the Democratic candidate holds dear the
country's basic
values: God, patriotism, family, freedom.

"Third, the Republicans routinely field a squad of political
professionals, most
of them now with years of White House and presidential campaign
experience
(while) Democrats somehow field a squad of smart but insurgent
players, who do
not fully understand whole areas of the country and operate far more
narrowly.

"Fourth, the media still have not figured out how to deal
effectively with
negative advertising."

Sasso's fifth reason, however, was the shocker. In 1988, Jesse
Jackson had
garnered about 7 million votes in the primaries and caucuses, while
Dukakis had
gotten about 9 million. Jackson insisted this earned him the right
to be
Dukakis' vice presidential running mate and he threatened to launch
a floor
fight at the convention if he was not selected.

Though Jackson had no realistic hope for the vice presidential slot,
Dukakis had
to spend a great deal of time both publicly and privately soothing
Jackson
before, during and after the convention. To Sasso, this helped doom
the Dukakis
campaign.

"If the presidential candidate disagrees with the party's most
influential black
leader, the candidate must, in my view, break out of his political
fright and
disagree," Sasso said in his speech. "In some ways voters seem to
judge the
strength and skill and character of the Democratic candidate on how
effectively
he gets along with or copes with Jackson. It becomes an unending
litmus test."

These were daring words back then and some credit Sasso with
beginning the
Democratic Party's "liberation" from Jackson's influence. (Others
saw it as a
slap in the face to the man who had probably registered more
Democratic voters
than anyone in history.)

Afterwards, Sasso outlined the on-going, post-convention conflict
between
Dukakis and Jackson. It remains an instructive
disagreement: "Jackson believed
Dukakis was reaching way too far to attract the so-called Reagan
Democrats,
traditional Democrats who in the past couple of elections had voted
in large
numbers Republican. He was convinced we could not lure them back.
Instead, he
wanted us to concentrate on constituencies who had far more
consistently and
faithfully voted Democratic: blacks, Hispanics and those under
economic stress.
He warned us we were slighting these constituencies, taking them for
granted. We
held a different view. We felt it was vital to reach out and broaden
that base.

We do not know when or if Kerry will have his Sister Souljah moment
and
cut the cord to the likes of SharKKKpton and Jesse Jackson, or
whether he
will simply chose to attack African-Americans to win the votes of
white
racists in the same way he chose to attack lesbians to win the votes
of "homophobic" voters, or whether he will lash out at Israel to win
the votes of anti-Semites, or whether he will chose to betray some
other
perceived Democratic constituency to win the votes of those he feels
may
dislike that constituency, what is clear is that Kerry and company
have
no qualms about betraying anyone if it fits their strategy of the
moment. In fact former Clinton Ambassador Richard Holbrooke
(Holbrooke was
Ambassador to BOTH THE UNITED NATIONS AND GERMANY- though sometimes

feels more like he was Ambassador FROM GERMANY AND THE UNITED

said in a recent (October 2004) Fox-TV interview that Kerry, for whom
Holbrooke is a key foreign policy advisor, and is even seen as
Kerry's likely
choice as Secretary of State should he win on November 2nd, 2004,
would
"PUT MORE PRESSURE ON ISRAEL"!!!! Give us a number Senator Kerry,
what
is the number of DEAD JEWS murdered by arafat's GENOCIDE BOMBERS,

To Kerry and company the ends justify the means. The attack plays on

Some media call Igor Sechin the "power broker" of Putin"s
administration, and
the author of the secret plan of Russian authorities to take over
YUKOS, the
Daily Telegraph wrote.

The "fall" of YUKOS and its head began in February, 2003 after the
strained
dialog between President Putin and Mikhail Khodorkovsky in the
Kremlin, at the
Presidents meeting with oligarchs. Le Monde wrote that Khodorkovsky
said about
the corruption in the state-owned Rosneft company patronized by
Vladimir Putin.
The President quickly responded, "YUKOS has surpluses of oil
deposits, and how
did it got them?"

It is worth mentioning that Russian Office of Public Prosecutor
initiated legal
proceedings against YUKOS after receiving the letter of Rosneft
President Sergey
Bogdanchikov. He wrote that 19% of Eniseineftegaz (ENG) company
disappeared from
Anglo-Siberian Oil Company (ASOC) controlled by Rosneft. These
shares were
allegedly transferred to offshore company Maastrade Limited, and
YUKOS wrote the
wrong date of the deal. YUKOS claimed that the deal with the ENG
shares was
absolutely legal.

The Financial Times wrote that Rosneft is the main candidate for
purchasing
Yuganskneftegaz - the main oil-drilling structure of YUKOS. It can
be sold out
soon to pay YUKOS tax debts. According to the Financial Times,
Rosneft itself is
short of cash and has many debts. State-owned Sberbank can give a
loan, but it
would be too much for Russian government to give loans to itself to
purchase
confiscated assets, wrote the newspaper.

The Die Welt also believes that Rosneft is likely to purchase the
valuable
YUKOS" property. Despite bad management, Rosneft can become basis
for powerful
Russian state-owned oil corporation.

Previously the Daily Telegraph wrote on Igor Sechin"s plan to take
over YUKOS"
oil by getting control over the oil in Transneft monopoly pipelines.
This plan
can be implemented as well.

Rosneft's new chairman has no oil experience. Sechin studied French
and
Portuguese at Leningrad State University, and Russian news media
have reported
that he was recruited by the KGB. He went to Africa as an
interpreter for a
Soviet equipment export company, returning to work in city
government in
Leningrad, since renamed St. Petersburg. In 1991, he became an aide
to Putin,
then a city official, and has followed his boss's rise.

Now Kremlin deputy chief of staff, Sechin has rarely appeared in
public and does
not give interviews. Along with fellow deputy chief Viktor Ivanov,
another KGB
veteran, he leads the clan of hard-liners called the siloviki, or
men of power.
He has an inside line to the prosecutors pursuing Khodorkovsky,
since Sechin's
daughter last year reportedly married the son of Prosecutor General
Vladimir
Ustinov.

The rise of the siloviki has inspired fear. When NTV television
asked Arkady
Volsky, president of the Russian Union of Industrialists and
Entrepreneurs, who
he thought was behind the moves against Yukos, he refused to say. "I
am very
scared to name names now," he said. "I am simply scared. I have six
grandchildren, after all, and I want them to live."

Russian President Putin favors Bush over Kerry

DUSHANBE, Tajikistan - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday
that
terrorists are aiming to derail President Bush's chances at re-
election through
attacks in Iraq, the latest in a series of comments indicating that
Putin favors
Bush in the upcoming vote.
"I consider the activities of terrorists in Iraq are not as much
aimed at
coalition forces but more personally against President Bush," Putin
said at a
news conference after a regional summit in the Tajik capital,
Dushanbe.

"International terrorism has as its goal to prevent the election of
President
Bush to a second term," he said. "If they achieve that goal, then
that will give
international terrorism a new impulse and extra power."

Putin declined to specify which candidate he wants to win the U.S.
presidential
election on Nov. 2. "We unconditionally respect any choice of the
American
people," he said. "I don't want to spoil relations with either
candidate."

Putin also noted his continuing disagreement with Bush on
Washington's invasion
of Iraq, which Russia strongly opposed as a permanent member of the
U.N.
Security Council. "Russia was always against the military operations
in Iraq,"
he said.

But the statement equating a Bush defeat with a terrorist victory
was a clear
indication of support for the incumbent.

Putin and his Kremlin advisers seem to view Bush as a pragmatic
leader perhaps
less likely than Democratic nominee John Kerry to confront Russia
seriously on
issues like the war in Chechnya and authoritarian political moves
widely seen as
steps away from democracy.

In a Sept. 30 debate, Kerry voiced concerns about conditions in
Russia, saying
Putin has taken steps that go beyond what's necessary to combat
terror.

Bush treaded more lightly, saying his personal relationship with
Putin "enables
me to better comment to him and the better to discuss with him some
of the
decisions he makes." He said Russia was in transition and that he
would remind
Putin "of the great benefits of democracy."

Putin and Bush both say they have a good relationship, and despite
their
differences over Iraq they have cooperated in the international war
on terror.

Russia assented to the deployment of U.S. forces in former Soviet
Central Asia
for operations in neighboring Afghanistan, and Washington has mostly
looked the
other way on allegations of human rights abuses in the war in
Chechnya, which
Russia alleges is being fueled by international terror groups.

On his last visit to Central Asia in June, Putin appeared to back
Bush's
assertion that Iraq was a threat, saying at a summit in Kazakhstan
that Russia
had notified Washington about intelligence that Saddam Hussein's
regime was
preparing attacks in the United States and its interests abroad."

Evidence is emerging which supports long-held contentions that
Russia violated
the arms sanctions placed against the Saddam Hussein regime
following the end of
the first Gulf war. Illegal arms supplies, which once found their
way to
Saddam's military, may well flow to guerrilla forces displeased with
the
prospect of a U.S. military administration in post-Saddam Iraq.

Moscow's persistent denial of arms sales to Saddam is becoming
increasingly
unbelievable following the destruction of two advanced U.S. Abrams
M1 tanks by
Russian-made "Kornet" missiles.

The Kornet is a portable missile capable of being laser-guided, and
has a range
of over three miles. Iraq is believed to have purchased some 1500 of
the
weapons, according to a recent report by Radio Free Europe/Radio
Liberty.

The exact route the Kornets took to Iraq is unknown, but many
speculate that
friends of Russia, including Belarus, Ukraine, or Syria acted as
middlemen.

Russia is also believed to have sold night-vision equipment and "GPS-
Jammer"
devices to Saddam's military.

The Russian GPS-Jammers may be responsible for some of the civilian
casualties
in the Iraq conflict. Because the GPS-Jammers can interfere with the
remote
guidance of U.S. missiles, it is possible that a missile could be
deflected from
its intended target and mistakenly hit a civilian location.

Then in March 2002, McKinney suggested the Bush administration had
failed to act
on prior warnings of the Sept. 11 attacks.


In an interview with a Berkeley radio station, McKinney said, "We

were numerous warnings of the events to come on September 11th .
What did this
administration know and when did it know it, about the events of
September 11th?
Who else knew, and why did they not warn the innocent people of New
York who
were needlessly murdered? What do they have to hide? Persons close

First elected to Congress in 1992, McKinney served five terms until
her primary
defeat in 2002. Although she drew heavy support from the Muslim
community, she

Thousands of Republicans crossed over and voted for Denise Majette

Democratic primary, adding to Majette's considerable support from

Following her defeat, McKinney vowed she'd be back, and it looks

You will forgive our skepticism about that story when you realize
that

close friends who worked together on exposing Iraqgate, the arming

close friends would not have had family gatherings or similar social
events of some type while all 3 were working closely togehter that

primary goal is to return all of Arizona, California, New Mexico,

Teresa Heinz Kerry: Bag Lady for the Radical Left

With Matt Drudge's recent revelation that John Kerry is as faithful
to his second wife as he was to his old Vietnam "brothers," the
senator's presidential campaign may depend more than ever on the
actions of his wife, Teresa Heinz Kerry. While the mainstream media
has thus far overlooked the alleged infidelity, media outlets have
also overlooked a far more important story: The former Mrs. John
Heinz is also in bed – financially – with the radical Left.

Teresa Heinz Kerry has financed the secretive Tides Foundation to
the tune of more than $4 million over the years. The Tides
Foundation, a "charity" established in 1976 by antiwar leftist
activist Drummond Pike, distributes millions of dollars in grants
every year to political organizations advocating far-Left causes.
The Tides Foundation and its closely allied Tides Center, which was
spun off from the Foundation in 1996 but run by Drummond Pike,
distributed nearly $66 million in grants in 2002 alone. In all,
Tides has distributed more than $300 million for the Left. These
funds went to rabid antiwar demonstrators, anti-trade demonstrators,
domestic Islamist organizations, pro-terrorists legal groups...

During the years 1995-2001, the Howard Heinz Endowment, which Heinz
Kerry chairs, gave Tides more than $4.3 million. The combined Heinz
Endowments (composed of the Howard Heinz Endowment and the Vira I.
Heinz Endowment) donated $1.6 million to establish the Tides Center
for Western Pennsylvania, a Pittsburgh office of the San Francisco-
based Tides Center....it is the Tides Foundation's national
organization whose connections are most disconcerting.

The Tides Foundation is a major source of revenue for some of the
most extreme groups on the Left. Tides allows donors to anonymously
contribute money to a host of causes; the donor simply makes the
check out to Tides and instructs the Foundation where to forward the
money. Tides does so. The Tides Center will even manage a left-wing
project, for a nominal fee. Drummond Pike told The Chronicle of
Philanthropy, "Anonymity is very important to most of the people we
work with." That becomes understandable when one views the list of
Tides grant recipients. And who are the beneficiaries of this money?

The Antiwar Movement


Senator John F. Kerry has gone far with his nuanced view of
Operation Iraqi Freedom. He voted for the war resolution but
specified a litany of conditions the Bush administration must meet
before he would support combat, then proceeded to vote against
funding troops already in harm's way – then claimed he had always
supported the president when Saddam Hussein was captured. The grant
recipients of the Tides Foundation, to which Kerry's wife has
steered millions of dollars in "charitable" funds, understand no
such nuance.

Tides established the Iraq Peace Fund and the Peace Strategies Fund
to fund the antiwar movement. These projects fueled such hysterical
protest organizations as MoveOn.org, the website that recently
featured two separate commercials portraying George W. Bush as Adolf
Hitler. (Howard Dean, not Kerry, won MoveOn.org's "virtual
primary.")

The antiwar movement often boasted that MoveOn.org and the radical
website Indymedia provided them "alternate media coverage."
Indymedia, an enormous news and events bulletin board with local
pages in most of the world's major cities, provided a vital link for
radical activists often with violent agendas to coordinate their
protests. Indymedia received $376,000 from the Tides Foundation.

The Institute for Global Communications is another leftist
communications facilitator that received Tides grant money. IGC,
which during the 1990s was the leading provider of web technology to
the radical Left, links to "recommended sites" such as the War
Resisters League (a group whose purpose is enabling peaceniks to
refuse to pay taxes) and the leftist American Friends Service
Committee. Most disturbing is the link to Ramsey Clark's
International Action Center, which has supported North Korean
strongman Kim Jong-Il. The IAC is the force behind International
ANSWER, which sponsored the major antiwar (and anti-Bush) rallies
before the invasion of Iraq. When ANSWER was outed as a Communist
organization, United for Peace and Justice, headed by longtime
Communist Party member Leslie Cagan was created as a "moderate"
alternative. UFPJ is also a Tides grant recipient.The Tides-
funded "A Better Way Project," which opposed war in Iraq, also
coordinated efforts of United for Peace and Justice and the Win
Without War Coalition. The celebrity-laden Win Without War
Coalition, along with the Bill Moyers-funded Florence and John
Schumann Foundation, ran full-page ads in the New York Times
opposing the War on Terrorism. This will not be the last overlapping
of far-Left causes.

The Islamist Front

Immediately after 9/11, Tides formed a "9/11 Fund" to advocate
a "peaceful national response" to the opening salvos of war....The
Foundation replaced the 9/11 Fund with the "Democratic Justice
Fund," which was established with the aid of George Soros' Open
Society Institute. (Currency speculator and pro-drug advocate Soros
is, like Teresa Heinz Kerry, a major contributor to Tides, having
donated more than $7 million.) The Democratic Justice Fund seeks to
ease restrictions on Muslim immigration to the United States,
particularly from countries designated by the State Department
as "terrorist nations."

Tides has also given grant money to the Council for American Islamic
Relations. Ostensibly a "Muslim civil rights group," CAIR is in fact
one of the leading anti-anti-terrorism organizations within the
Wahhabi Lobby, with links to Hamas. CAIR regularly opposes and
demonizes American efforts to fight terrorism, claiming, for
instance, that Homeland Security measures are responsible for an
undocumented surge in "hate crimes."

CAIR officials have reason to fight Bush's anti-terrorism measures:
all too many CAIR officials are on the record supporting terrorism.
CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad openly stated in 1994, "I am a
supporter of the Hamas movement." Community Affairs Director Bassem
K. Khafagi has been arrested for visa and bank fraud. Randall Royer,
a Communications Specialist and Civil Rights Coordinator at CAIR,
was arrested along with a group of Islamic radicals in Virginia for
allegedly planning jihad. CAIR has defended terrorist "charities"
shut down by the Bush administration. Every few months some CAIR
campus official is arrested for aiding and abetting terrorism.

The Legal Matrix

The Tides Foundation has funded a number of the pillars of the
radical legal establishment. Chief among these is the National
Lawyers Guild, which began as a Commnist front organization and is
proud of its lineage. At its recent convention last October, the
concluding speaker was Lynne Stewart, an indicted terrorist NLG
lawyer arrested for helping her client – convicted 1993 World Trade
Center bombing mastermind Sheikh Omar Abdel Rahman – communicate
with his terrorist cells in Egypt. In her speech, Stewart said she
and her NLG comrades were carrying on a proud tradition of their
forebears, past and present.

More recently, the NLG has endorsed the March 20 call to End
Colonial Occupation from Iraq to Palestine & Everywhere" organized
by International ANSWER.

Tides' Peace Strategies Fund has funneled money to the Center for
Constitutional Rights. The CCR was stablished by Sixties radical
William Kunstler, defender of the Chicago 8, and Arthur Kinoy. The
two also had plans to establish a new Communist Party. Executive
Director Ron Daniels has been honored by the Communist Party USA for
his work. Daniels also has a long and cordial relationship with
racist, anti-Semitic "poet laureate" Amiri Baraka. Since 9/11, CCR
has channeled its efforts into fighting every effective Homeland
Security measure. They have opposed increasing the government's
ability to wiretap Islamists suspected of plotting terrorism and
moaned the sequestering of terrorist detainees at Guantanamo Bay was
an unexcusable form of "racial profiling." CCR President Michael
Ratner has portrayed American soldiers as the offenders, guilty of
9/11 by their Middle East policy and guilty of keeping Islamist
killers "shackled, hooded and sedated during the 25 hour flight from
Afghanistan." CCR has also defended Lynne Stewart's "innocence" in
aiding Sheikh Rahman's Islamic Jihad...
remember that Heinz money has repeatedly found its way to the Earth
Island
Institute. On September 14, 2001, the Institute's website bore the
headline
"U.S. Responds to Terrorist Attacks with Self-Righteous Arrogance."

They've had interviews with South Africans, and generally, there is a
majority (mostly non-white) who want Kerry to win. Though many whites
also want Kerry to win.

This is because our Government and media are biased against Bush and we
hear lots of anti-Bush propaganda.

The fact that South Africans want Kerry to win, is reason enough for me
to hold the opposite view.

Of course, the real reason I would prefer Bush to win is because I notice
how crazy the communists (both in South Africa and abroad), go at the
mere mention of Bush. That Terrorists and Communists hate Bush with such
a passion is enough of a sign that they see Bush as something of a
threat... even if Bush himself does not truly grasp what is going on.

Terrorists (and Communists - same thing virtually) want Kerry in because
"he's their man from Hanoi..." the Great Traitor... who will hand them
victory on a plate. Kerry will allow the communists to infiltrate the USA
further, and take over what's left... while letting the Muslims run
amuck... and letting Russia and China extend their grip on the world...
especially the Middle East...

The world has become socialist... and so they will love Kerry... because
they recognise their kin... even as he poses in Sheep's clothing.

The world has gone mad and insane in my opinion. That 50% of the US
population can even THINK of supporting Kerry... stuns me. Its an
indictment of democracy... It shows me these people aren't fit to have
the vote. I say Blacks in Africa shouldn't get the vote - but now I'm
starting to think many Whites in the Western world should be stripped of
their right to vote too!!! How can they vote for a man who betrayed his
own country; has negotiated with communists; has taken ORDERS FROM
COMMUNISTS (e.g. when he was in the Communist-directed "Peace
movement")... etc. He is a man who has no values - promises anything to
anyone and is all things to all people, all the time, even when those
things are diametrically opposite. He's the most ridiculous fool of a
politician to ever surface in the USA. His wife originates from
Mozambique and South Africa - where she has firm communist ties and
extreme leftist views. I have heard that she has funded terrorists and
all sorts of extremists. Kerry himself is no better. He should be lined
up and put on trial for treason if nothing else. Too bad nobody shoots
anyone for treason anymore because he definitely needs to be placed in
front of a firing squad and shot for what he did after Vietnam.

I look at him and spit on him. He's far worse than Clinton ever was.
People might as well be voting directly for PUTIN... its the same thing.


I hope Bush wins... but I'm not sure I have much faith in the world any
more... and my faith in the USA is going down all the time. It looks to
me as if America will trade away Israel and may yet allow itself to be
terrorised by a couple of crazy Arabs who really need to be put in their
place.

What a screwed up world we live in. Definitely its a world gone mad. Only
the Russians and Chinese can be laughing and enjoying what's happening.

In a twist... South Africa sent 2 election monitors to the USA. I note
with fascination that a number of countries will be monitoring the US
election. How funny!! The USA has been running its elections for over 200
years... now some Third World Tin Pot nations want to teach Americans how
to do it.

How about us learning to count first? We only have 18 million voters, and
it takes us a good two weeks to count... meanwhile the Americans, with
their automated (and much more reliable systems)... count their ballots
within a day and know the result. Maybe we should be going to the USA to
learn how to count first...

I do suspect that the real reason we sent election monitors to the USA
was to really play our part, along with the rest of the Socialist world,
in trying to throw doubt on the integrity of the US election. Remember,
we sent election monitors to Zimbabwe where our election monitors managed
to see a Free and Fair election when everyone else said it was nothing of
the kind. I am dying to hear what our election monitors will say about
the USA? Can they in any way, twist the facts so as to throw some doubt
on Bush's win? Anything is possible.

I see on the Drudge Report that Bush has won. Excellent stuff. That
means: MORE WAR... Lovely... I'm happy. We can't just hand the bastards
on the left victory and surrender on a plate.

Terror were just figments of Bush's imagination... they would
conveniently have rewritten history to convince everyone that the last 4
years we've all just been imagining things.

So the terrorists probably held back with their attacks on US soil to
help Kerry... Now it will all have to RESUME. Yep!! The naughty American
Conservatives will have to be punished for choosing Bush.

I like Bush... not because he does all that much... (he's far too soft in
my opinion)... but because the Commies and Terrorists HATE HIM SO MUCH.

These days, there's a group of people: US Liberals=Terrorists=Communists
- who work together. US Liberals, as usual, are working with Terrorists,
trying so hard to hand them victory on a plate. Of course, Liberals
pretend to be squeaky clean... "Oh we don't support terrorism"... but yes
they DO. What Liberals don't seem to realise is that Terrorists and
Communists SUPPORT THEM!!! Why? Because the Liberals will hand the

And of course Kerry, with Communist Credentials coming out of his ears...
will be happy to follow THE PARTY LINE in the White House...

No doubt the Communists and Terrorists were holding their collective
breaths, hoping to God that Americans are stupid enough to vote their man

I was holding my breath too. I was wondering if the stupid in America
were going to outnumber the rest. It was close.

A victory for Kerry would have been a victory for the cowardly who would
hand over a mighty nation to a few slime bags with Terrorist/Communist
connections.

Osama Bin Laden (read Putin), has said that naughty Americans will get
their butts kicked if they vote for Bush. Many South Africans this
morning will be angry with you Americans... (except for a few whites like
me).

I'm happy... Bush isn't the greatest, but to quote a friend of mine "He
has some sense of self-defence"... and that's what I'm banking on,
because it means the Terrorists and Communists couldn't bluff their way
back into the White House... it means... grabbing more infidels,
sharpening their knives and starting to cut off more people's heads. A
Bush Victory is gonna condemn more Palestinians to death... I mean
they'll have to strap on all those bomb belts again and blow up more
Israelis. It means they will die in a hail of Israeli bullets too...
because Bush will keep Israel alive just a little bit longer than Kerry
would. It means more fighting in Iraq instead of SURRENDER and RETREAT as
Kerry would have preferred.

So, yippee, today the terrorists are getting up, and having to start
making bombs again, dusting off old plans of how to kill more Americans,
Jews and Westerners. Bummer for them!!

But I'm very happy... It means lots more war ahead... lots and lots and
LOTS in the next few years... the Middle East will burn... and maybe it
will start spreading... into World War III.

The main reason I am happy is because it means, the little bit of Free
World that's left (consisting solely of the USA+Israel), still remains
unconquered, and above all, they won't be HANDING THE ENEMY VICTORY ON A
PLATE!!!

As a friend of mine said, maybe, Bush even gets to see the light at some
point and will lob a few nuclear bombs Putin's way!! (Don't tease me now
and get me all excited and then disappoint me later!!!).

I know many people, including myself are interested in prophecies. I
might as well mention a rather secret war prophecy I came across some
years ago.

In 1995, there was a magazine article about a Professor Lemmer, who had 7
university degrees and who also happened to be psychic. He was writing a
book wherein he was trying to get to the scientific roots of psychic
matters. Since he experienced visions and strange things, he tried to
make his own deductions about what was happening.

A magazine article was written about him. I contacted him. The magazine
article mentioned that when he was a kid, he had foreseen World War II
and the single-winged planes in visions he had many years before these
things existed.

It mentioned, interestingly, that he foresaw a tremendous war in South
Africa. When I contacted him in 1995... he did not want to discuss this
with me.

I lost contact with him... in the meantime... he wrote a book in
Afrikaans (which was never published), and then he passed away. Round
about 1999, I went in search of him again... I found his wife had moved
and finally I spent an evening chatting to her. She told me many strange
things about him - which were all very fascinating.

But I was interested in the war prophecy about South Africa. In his
manuscript, which she gave me a copy of, he did not mention it. But she
did tell me that she remembered the night when he had this very realistic
dream - which like many other dreams he had had (which came true) - he
took very seriously.

She said he woke up in a cold sweat saying he had seen the most terrible
thing. He did not want to say exactly what he saw. He said he saw fire
and war all over South Africa. It freaked him out... and he never wrote
about it, nor would he tell me exactly what he saw. But it must have been
really bad.

As I see George Bush's re-election, and what it means in terms of much
more war to come in the Middle East... and maybe even a future world
war... the Professor's terrible vision comes to mind... and I can't help
wondering if it will yet occur?

The Professor's book has never been published. But a friend of mine in
the USA has translated it from Afrikaans to English.

Kerry Won't Concede, Says He'll Win Ohio

Sore Loserman II: Just as he had planned to all along, Sen. John Kerry is disputing his loss in Ohio.

Campaign manager Mary Beth Cahill released this statement:

"The vote count in Ohio has not been completed. There are more than 250,000 remaining votes to be counted. We believe when they are, John Kerry will win Ohio."

Readers of NewsMax.com should not be surprised. As we noted Oct. 20, Kerry's campaign openly admitted he would not concede defeat and even if President Bush won re-election would try to seize the White House anyway.

As of this hour FNC and MSNBC have called Ohio for Bush, but ABC, CBS and CNN are still holding out for Kerry despite all odds.

  Chief Justice John Marshall administered the first executive oath of office ever taken in the new federal city in the new Senate Chamber (now the Old Supreme Court Chamber) of the partially built Capitol building. The outcome of the election of 1800 had been in doubt until late February because Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr, the two leading candidates, each had received 73 electoral votes.

 

Consequently, the House of Representatives met in a special session to resolve the impasse, pursuant to the terms spelled out in the Constitution. After 30 hours of debate and balloting, Mr. Jefferson emerged as the President and Mr. Burr the Vice President. President John Adams, who had run unsuccessfully for a second term, left Washington on the day of the inauguration without attending the ceremony.


Friends and Fellow-Citizens:

 CALLED upon to undertake the duties of the first executive office of our country, I avail myself of the presence of that portion of my fellow-citizens which is here assembled to express my grateful thanks for the favor with which they have been pleased to look toward me, to declare a sincere consciousness that the task is above my talents, and that I approach it with those anxious and awful presentiments which the greatness of the charge and the weakness of my powers so justly inspire.

A rising nation, spread over a wide and fruitful land, traversing all the seas with the rich productions of their industry, engaged in commerce with nations who feel power and forget right, advancing rapidly to destinies beyond the reach of mortal eye—when I contemplate these transcendent objects, and see the honor, the happiness, and the hopes of this beloved country committed to the issue, and the auspices of this day, I shrink from the contemplation, and humble myself before the magnitude of the undertaking.

To you, then, gentlemen, who are charged with the sovereign functions of legislation, and to those associated with you, I look with encouragement for that guidance and support which may enable us to steer with safety the vessel in which we are all embarked amidst the conflicting elements of a troubled world.

During the contest of opinion through which we have passed the animation of discussions and of exertions has sometimes worn an aspect which might impose on strangers unused to think freely and to speak and to write what they think; but this being now decided by the voice of the nation, announced according to the rules of the Constitution, all will, of course, arrange themselves under the will of the law, and unite in common efforts for the common good.

All, too, will bear in mind this sacred principle, that though the will of the majority is in all cases to prevail, that will to be rightful must be reasonable; that the minority possess their equal rights, which equal law must protect, and to violate would be oppression.

Let us, then, fellow-citizens, unite with one heart and one mind.

Let us restore to social intercourse that harmony and affection without which liberty and even life itself are but dreary things. And let us reflect that, having banished from our land that religious intolerance under which mankind so long bled and suffered, we have yet gained little if we countenance a political intolerance as despotic, as wicked, and capable of as bitter and bloody persecutions.

During the throes and convulsions of the ancient world, during the agonizing spasms of infuriated man, seeking through blood and slaughter his long-lost liberty, it was not wonderful that the agitation of the billows should reach even this distant and peaceful shore; that this should be more felt and feared by some and less by others, and should divide opinions as to measures of safety.

But every difference of opinion is not a difference of principle.

We have called by different names brethren of the same principle.

We are all Republicans, we are all Federalists.

If there be any among us who would wish to dissolve this Union or to change its republican form, let them stand undisturbed as monuments of the safety with which error of opinion may be tolerated where reason is left free to combat it.

I know, indeed, that some honest men fear that a republican government can not be strong, that this Government is not strong enough; but would the honest patriot, in the full tide of successful experiment, abandon a government which has so far kept us free and firm on the theoretic and visionary fear that this Government, the world's best hope, may by possibility want energy to preserve itself?

I trust not. I believe this, on the contrary, the strongest Government on earth. I believe it the only one where every man, at the call of the law, would fly to the standard of the law, and would meet invasions of the public order as his own personal concern. Sometimes it is said that man can not be trusted with the government of himself. Can he, then, be trusted with the government of others? Or have we found angels in the forms of kings to govern him? Let history answer this question.2

 Let us, then, with courage and confidence pursue our own Federal and Republican principles, our attachment to union and representative government. Kindly separated by nature and a wide ocean from the exterminating havoc of one quarter of the globe; too high-minded to endure the degradations of the others; possessing a chosen country, with room enough for our descendants to the thousandth and thousandth generation; entertaining a due sense of our equal right to the use of our own faculties, to the acquisitions of our own industry, to honor and confidence from our fellow-citizens, resulting not from birth, but from our actions and their sense of them; enlightened by a benign religion, professed, indeed, and practiced in various forms, yet all of them inculcating honesty, truth, temperance, gratitude, and the love of man; acknowledging and adoring an overruling Providence, which by all its dispensations proves that it delights in the happiness of man here and his greater happiness hereafter—with all these blessings, what more is necessary to make us a happy and a prosperous people?

Still one thing more, fellow-citizens—a wise and frugal Government, which shall restrain men from injuring one another, shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned. This is the sum of good government, and this is necessary to close the circle of our felicities.3

 About to enter, fellow-citizens, on the exercise of duties which comprehend everything dear and valuable to you, it is proper you should understand what I deem the essential principles of our Government, and consequently those which ought to shape its Administration. I will compress them within the narrowest compass they will bear, stating the general principle, but not all its limitations.

Equal and exact justice to all men, of whatever state or persuasion, religious or political; peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none; the support of the State governments in all their rights, as the most competent administrations for our domestic concerns and the surest bulwarks against anti-republican tendencies; the preservation of the General Government in its whole constitutional vigor, as the sheet anchor of our peace at home and safety abroad; a jealous care of the right of election by the people—a mild and safe corrective of abuses which are lopped by the sword of revolution where peaceable remedies are unprovided; absolute acquiescence in the decisions of the majority, the vital principle of republics, from which is no appeal but to force, the vital principle and immediate parent of despotism; a well disciplined militia, our best reliance in peace and for the first moments of war, till regulars may relieve them; the supremacy of the civil over the military authority; economy in the public expense, that labor may be lightly burthened; the honest payment of our debts and sacred preservation of the public faith; encouragement of agriculture, and of commerce as its handmaid; the diffusion of information and arraignment of all abuses at the bar of the public reason; freedom of religion; freedom of the press, and freedom of person under the protection of the habeas corpus, and trial by juries impartially selected.

These principles form the bright constellation which has gone before us and guided our steps through an age of revolution and reformation.

The wisdom of our sages and blood of our heroes have been devoted to their attainment. They should be the creed of our political faith, the text of civic instruction, the touchstone by which to try the services of those we trust; and should we wander from them in moments of error or of alarm, let us hasten to retrace our steps and to regain the road which alone leads to peace, liberty, and safety.4

 I repair, then, fellow-citizens, to the post you have assigned me. With experience enough in subordinate offices to have seen the difficulties of this the greatest of all, I have learnt to expect that it will rarely fall to the lot of imperfect man to retire from this station with the reputation and the favor which bring him into it. Without pretensions to that high confidence you reposed in our first and greatest revolutionary character, whose preeminent services had entitled him to the first place in his country's love and destined for him the fairest page in the volume of faithful history, I ask so much confidence only as may give firmness and effect to the legal administration of your affairs. I shall often go wrong through defect of judgment.

When right, I shall often be thought wrong by those whose positions will not command a view of the whole ground. I ask your indulgence for my own errors, which will never be intentional, and your support against the errors of others, who may condemn what they would not if seen in all its parts. The approbation implied by your suffrage is a great consolation to me for the past, and my future solicitude will be to retain the good opinion of those who have bestowed it in advance, to conciliate that of others by doing them all the good in my power, and to be instrumental to the happiness and freedom of all.

Relying, then, on the patronage of your good will, I advance with obedience to the work, ready to retire from it whenever you become sensible how much better choice it is in your power to make. And may that Infinite Power which rules the destinies of the universe lead our councils to what is best, and give them a favorable issue for your peace and prosperity.

A dramatic race it is. It seems eternity weighs in the balance. Yes, it looks very much like Bush is the undisputed winner, but, Kerry is not ready to concede. This morning former Mayor of New York, Rudy Giuliani said Kerry should "do the big thing," and condede, get it over with, don't drag the country through another post-election mess.

MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell last night observed that the election was based on the issue of morality rather than economics. This, she noted, was rather unusual in modern American politics.

Probably, then Kerry will drag it out as long as possible, since his character has always been consistent--always fighting, never giving up. Unfortuntately, it seems his efforts are generally mistaken. Americans have shown, albeit not by a landslide, that they prefer a man who has faith, who is unashamed of the American foundation in the Judeo-Christian religion. Americans prefer a man who is decisive, aggressive, consistent in his positions, and who speaks from the heart.

No, lots of folks don't think Bush is eloquent, smart, or even wise. And he trained to fly a jet which was obsolete well before Vietnam was over, so he became useless, even though he had volunteered twice to go to Vietnam. But Kerry went. Did that give him an advantage? No, because his record and conduct, particularly after the fourth-month stay in Vietnam, was just too offensive, to self-serving, too damning to others. His 'sins' caught up with him, really.

Democrats should simply choose a less controversial figure, a less "anti-American" figure. Can we write this election off as simply as that? It is basic lesson in the American image. There still is one, and it still shines.

"You can't fool all the people, all the time," Lincoln once said. What we can hope for now is that the Democratic Party will reshape itself, and the real patriots among them with either rid themselves of their interior enemies, shed the anti-American sectors among them, or start a whole new party. They need to return to their own roots, and disassociate from the anti-Americanism so deeply infiltrated within their ranks.

Bush wins on the image of the man, one who loves God, and who loves his country. Kerry simply does not have this image. Words alone cannot fake it or imply it. His life record spoke louder than his campaign. Democrats should take the lesson. No more Clintons, no more Kerrys, and no more charming Southern attorneys, like Edwards. Now, a southern gentleman might do a lot better. Now the fiery Zell Miller was honest about the whole picture. Democrats should consider a man like him, too.

We must all chose our men by character, not by showmanship. Look at the Illinois senate race. Barak Obama beat Alan Keyes by over 70% of the vote. Obama, the Democrat, was a simple, lovable, approachable people's man. Keyes is an extraordinary performer, with an overwhelming mouth and brain. There was no character issue here, really, unless we can say it's just better to have a more humble demeanor. People will relate to you more easily. Words themselves don't cut it. It is the larger image of the man than wins.

And John Thune won over Daschle in South Dakota. For Indians, this should be a significant indicator. Russell Means, the grand activist of yester-year, is still an activist, only one with an open mind, and willing to experiment with new approaches. Republican are certainly not famous for having a clue about Indians, but, Means sees them as an untapped resource, indeed. Perhaps we can hope for some new developments in the heart of Indian country.

All in all, depsite the desperate and dishonest foulplay, and street thuggery practiced by many low-level Democratic operatives--financed by internationalist anti-American subversionists like George Soros, the people won. The behavior in this election was decent enough. Americans should all be proud. Details will come out later, but, in the mean time, we should all breath a sigh of relief.

One of the greatest victories in this election, perhaps the most immediate, visceral triumph, is the fact that the media was defeated. The pollsters, the commentators, the networks, the minions of blathering fools were all proven to be the opportunists they really are. The media bent over backwards to get Kerry elected, but the people won out. The people are independent from the media. Fancy that.

Now, this is an opportunity for everyone to re-assess his values, and to continue in diligence. This is no time to become presumptuous and lethargic. It is time to renew our knowledge of what America is, what it is supposed to be, and how to keep it that way. This is a time for love of country. Let's make sure we know what love is, and what the country is. Then was can all call ourselves patriots.

Finally. After over two years of a seemingly endless campaign, President Bush was re-elected on Tuesday night with a decisive mandate. He braved cruel attacks on his policies and his patriotism to get to this point. He handled those disreputable charges with honor. He overcame a massive media onslaught designed to elect John Kerry president. This election is a repudiation of the Michael Moore crowd, the MoveOn.orgs, the Deaniacs and the new-look Al Gore. This election is a ringing endorsement for traditional values, peace through strength, and American optimism.

 Showing a class he seldom displayed during his actual campaign, Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry telephoned President Bush on Wednesday to concede the election and congratulate the president. Of course, Kerry had no choice: His electoral loss in Ohio by the substantial margin of over 136,000 votes precluded any rational challenge. Still, Kerry could have dragged this out for a day or two longer, ticked off many Americans, and further undermined faith in American democracy.

 No doubt as the months go by, revisionist Democrats will begin to charge Republicans with vote quashing. Election morning, The New York Times ran a story designed to compare Ohio in 2004 to Florida in 2000. CNN doggedly refused to concede Ohio to President Bush hours after the state was secure -- and hours after Ohio had completed its precinct count. Apparently, CNN was waiting for John Lennon's big return before crediting President Bush with a win in Ohio. On Wednesday morning, CNN anchor Bill Hemmer asked an incredulous Rudy Giuliani about President Bush's "slim" lead in Ohio. A "slim" lead applies here only if you consider Michael Moore "slim." Yet CNN had no such problem declaring heavily contested states like Wisconsin (Kerry plus 11,000) and Pennsylvania (Kerry plus 121,000) quite early for Kerry.

 As usual, electoral losers tend to ask for compromise. In Kerry's concession speech, he told his supporters: "America is in need of unity and longing for a larger measure of compassion. I hope President Bush will advance those values in the coming years. I pledge to do my part to try to bridge the partisan divide. I know this is a difficult time for my supporters, but I ask them, all of you, to join me in doing that."

 Well, Mr. Kerry, you had two and a half years to promote bipartisanship and unity on the campaign trail. Instead, you claimed that President Bush was a liar and a traitor. Now that you've lost -- and, contrary to the media spin, lost soundly -- it's a very convenient time to start calling for political healing salve.

 So where do we go from here? The obvious temptation for Republicans is to compromise. Gracious in defeat, magnanimous in victory, right? Wrong. For the last four years, we've heard about how "divided" we are. We've heard about how this is a 50-50 country. And yet, somehow, over the last four years, Republicans have opened a lead on the Democrats. The last four years have marked the most dominant period in Republican politics since the 1920s; 2004 was the first election since 1924 where Republicans made gains in the House and Senate while re-electing an incumbent to the White House. President Bush won the most popular votes in the history of this country and won the first popular majority since his father in 1988.

 What got President Bush and the Republican Party to this point was not "moderation." President Bush didn't campaign toward the middle. Forging compromise on education and health care did little to alleviate the aggravation of the left. Barring some unforeseen drinking incident, Teddy Kennedy will still be leading the Democrats in the Senate during President Bush's next term. Hillary will still be lurking in the background as well, unless Rudy Giuliani decides to knock her off her broomstick. The tone in Washington isn't likely to turn friendly anytime soon.

 President Bush campaigned on solid conservative values, and he won on those values. His stances on terrorism and morality won him this election by over 3 million votes. Eleven states had marriage-protection initiatives on their ballots; it's no accident that Bush won 10 of those states. The Republican get-out-the-vote effort targeted silent conservatives, not the typical "swing voters." With the cyclical economic cycle headed for a boom during Bush's second term, Republicans are in excellent shape if they can cut government spending.

 And this term will be crucial. President Bush will likely have to replace at least one Supreme Court justice and probably two. He will have to stabilize Iraq. He will have to deal with the threat of a quasi-nuclear Iran. But he will not have to overextend in order to reach across the political aisle. This election was a victory. Let the Democrats worry about appeasing the burgeoning conservative majority.
