O Kalani Outrigger Canoe Club is a member of the Northern California Outrigger Canoe Association, member of the International Va'a Federation and the Pacific Islanders Cultural Association. The goals of this association is:
- To unite all the Outrigger Canoe Clubs organized in Northern California.
- To encourage, maintain and perpetuate outrigger canoe racing.
- To teach, train, instruct and expose children, men and women to the ancient art, craft and history of Hawaiian canoeing.
O Kalani Outrigger Canoe Club provides recreational and competitive paddling experiences for people of all ages living in Oakland/Alameda and other East Bay communities. Club activities include the Alameda Triangle Challenge race held every May, the summer sprint race season and a number of long distance races throughout Northern California. We are located in the San Francisco Bay Area at the Jack London Aquatic Center in Oakland, CA.
