Hi April,
My son is 5 also and has been on clonidine since may. We first started out just
giving it to him at bed time. With in 30-45 minutes he was asleep, where
normally it was a battle to get him to go to bed before 11pm and then keeping
him asleep. After about a month we added 1 pill in the morning with his concerta
and then he takes 1 in the afternoon. It has helped with the aggression and
impulsivity, but he still has his moments. The only side effect i have seen in
my son is he sweats alot at night, but his psychiatrist said that is sometimes a
side effect. He now takes 3 pills at night and I usually give it to hime around
7:30-8pm and he sleeps thru the night. I hope this helps. Let me know if you
have any other questions
Mara

ADHD/ODD child? I have decided that enough is enough, and I'm meeting with my 5
year old sons pediatrician in a week to discuss medications. I've been doing
research on all available meds and have found Clonidine (it's good for severe
impulsivity, hyperactivity, and aggression and ok to give to children under 6
years old... my biggest problem is his aggression and impulsivity). Has anyone
here tried it? Was it successful? and What were the side-effects?
