OCA - Young Professionals. Located in the metropolitan Washington, DC, area. This is an events announcement list ONLY; it is NOT a discussion forum. We are a group of Asian American young professionals in our 20's and 30's and we organize and/or host a variety of social and cultural events in the metro DC area. Some of our past event have included: hiking trips, rollerblading and rock climbing outings, volunteering at soup kitchens, dinners and dim sum events, happy hours, karaoke, picnics, Cherry Blossom Festival outings, lunar new year parties, walking in the annual Fannie Mae homeless walkathon, movie nights in support of APA films, and entering teams in the annual DC Dragon Boat race and Susan G. OCA-YP is a subgroup of OCA Northern Virginia Chapter (www.ocanova.iwarp.com) and is affiliated with OCA DC Chapter. OCA also is affiliated with OCA National (www.ocanatl.org). OCA National was founded in 1973 as the Organization of Chinese Americans. Recently, OCA National shortened its name to OCA and endeavors to advancing the social, political, and economic well-being of all Asian Pacific Americans in the United States.
