Training will commence with classroom traffic control instruction.
At the conclusion of the classroom session, volunteers will be
organized into groups and assigned to a Solo Bike Police Officer.
Groups will then proceed to an active intersection for field exercise
and evaluation.
HPD has requested the following:
- Comfortable slacks or jeans should be worn. No shorts or military type BDUs.

Hi all,
Do you know of anyone in packet or JNOS or whatever that could use the
following (all or parts)?
IBM PS/2 Model 50 (80286-10 MHz, 60 MB disk, 1 MB ram, runs DOS)
13 inch IBM color CRT
IBM Keyboard and mouse
IBM ProPrinter II (letterhead size, Z-fold paper, Dot Matrix )
It would make a great packet or APRS PC without tying up the main PC at home.
This is a very clean machine (ex-UH student used it in the early 1990's).
FREE !!!
p.s. Can someone post this offer to HIHAM list? I'm not a memeber.

Aloha,
I have the following equipment go give away for FREE. But you must have a
reasonable use for it.
This was used by a UH graduate in the early 1990's and is in excellent shape.
1) IBM PS/2 model 50 Z computer
80286 - 10 MHz
1 MB RAM
30 MB disk
Keyboard and mouse
2) IBM 13 inch CRT (VGA color)
3) IBM ProPrinter II standard width (Letterhead) dot-matrix printer
with big box of z-fold paper
Note: the PC will NOT run Windows.
Suggested use:
Great for DOS programs such as:
APRS, Packet, etc.
Great for EOCs or monitoring
Great as a dial-in PC using ProComm for UH or UNIX use
(I can provide a 9600 modem, too)

Kauai ARC has a VHF Net every Monday night at 8:00 pm, except the first
Monday of the month. It is held on our 146.920- & 147.160+ linked repeater
system.
We usually have several outer island hams from Oahu, Maui and sometimes
Molokai and the Big Island check in.
Our regular club meetings are held the First Monday of each month at
7:00 pm. We use three different sites around the island as meeting
sites. Next year's meeting schedule can be found along with links to

You guys should check this out. It's really neat. It's a site set
up with NASA to help them with a project that they are conducting.
Your name will be put on a CD and sent to Mars. Really cool.

As most of you know, the 146.880 is on low power (sans PA) and can
only be heard in a much smaller footprint around Diamond Head. I
have been monitoring the 449.150 uhf link and have been able to
conduct communications as long as I am in range of the uhf link
transmitter. This way the repeater is still usable for those with
dual band capability (or with an additional receiver to monitor on
uhf). Another work around that is available.
