I'm 35 and originally from Czech Republic. Currently I live in USA in Seattle where I started alpine climbing some 7 years ago in the Cascades. I'm visiting New Zealand for the first time starting on Dec 25th for about 5 weeks. I'm looking for alpine climbing partners. The only specific climb I'd like to do is Mount Cook via the Linda Glacier route with the full approach. Other than that I'm pretty much open to anything.
I'm an active year round climber with experience climbing on glaciers and both alpine rock and ice. I can comfortably lead up to D on the French Alpine scale which is about NZ 4. I'm a climb leader for a local outdoor club so I also have experience organizing climbs. I'll be bringing my own gear and probably will have a car.
So if you need an easy going climbing partner between these dates, please, let me know. I am flexible.

Hi,
my name is Dominikus, I'm a 30 year old guy from Germany, doing a postdoc in
Kyoto at the moment. I'll visit NZ over the Christmas holidays and I'd like to
spend some days (18-21/22) in the Mt Cook area, maybe even climb it if the
conditions are suitable (and if the time is not too short, I have to get these
damn maps, which is not so easy in Japan).
Contact me for more details, I can provide information about previous climbs
I've done. I also have all the equipment necessary for Mt Cook.
Looking forward to your email, Dominikus
My name is Gustavo, from Brazil, 28 years, civil enginner and nature/adventure lover.
I have a Work Holiday Visa, I have been travelling NZ since august-09, have already climbed lots of volcanoes on the north Island, lots of hiking all around NZ and I intend to climb around Mount Cook, Aspiring and Darrans regions from beginning of December-09 to April-10.
I am looking for a partner !!!
1- LINKS: Below I post some links from my last expedition around Peru, 6 mountains between 5.000 and 6.000 meters from PD to D+ on French Grade (I think like 2 and 4 on NZ alpine grade) some of them with local guides others leading., including famous Alpamayo (done) and Huascaran (failed, got sick).
I am not that familiar with NZ alpine grades but I think I can lead a route up to grade 3 and join a stronger partner up to 4, 4+ (keen to do upper).
So If you are keen to climb in one of this regions for short or long time, are looking for a partner or wants someone to join your climbing group, please reply me. Then we can talk about dates, routes and plans. I am easy-going and very flexible on climbing goals, so is likely I can suit your plans too. I can send you my climbing CV later if you are keen to climb together.
Anyway, my initial plan is to be around Mount Cook on December and Aspiring on January and...

Myself and my partner have just joined the club. Sadly we have had some of our
climbing gear stolen this weekend in Panmure outside Extreme Edge Gym. If you
could spread the details of our equipment so if it does surface there might be a
chance of us getting it back.
there was
A grey and black DMM rope bag
A purple single rope (well used)
A pair of black Evolv Defy climbing boots (UK 7.5)
A pair of purple and grey 5:10 Anastazi LV climbing boots (UK 5)
2 ATC's (one silver with blue tape, one gold) with HMS's (one with blue tape)
A black with blue design Wild Country Helix harness (Small)
and 2 Chalkbags, one grey boreal one with orange prussuc cord and one white
cordery Moon with a black strap.
Many thanks, fingers crossed we get our stuff back.

I`m a german girl, 26 years and at the moment in NZ at a work and holiday visa.
I want to stay here until march 2010. I`m especially searching for a
climbingpartner for this time. I had been several times climbing, but mostly in
gyms with a level just between 15 and 20. I`m not very used to do
outdoorclimbing, but i`m very keen on and really want to. I`ve my own shoes and
harness. So if anybody is interested and searching for a partner, maybe we can
meet up to discuss plans and do some trips together.
At the moment I`m still in Christchurch and the next step will be in Wanaka ...
You can send me an email or just a text (022 6006050),
Cheers, Melanie
Hello all,
I'm a British climber who will be visiting the Southern Alps from 24th October
to 16th November. I'm looking for climbing partners for big mixed/ice routes,
but any mileage in the mountains would be great (or cragging etc). Going to rent
a car and base myself around Wanaka or Mt. Cook, but flexible to travel wherever
conditions are good.
I'm 30 and been climbing for 12 years. Done many Grandes Courses in the Euro
Alps and several new routes in Scotland in Winter. Also done some new routing in
Alaska and some peaks in Peru. Looking to climb up to French Alpine ED2, UK rock
E2 (sorry not familiar with NZ grades!)
cheers
Gareth Hughes
I had a trip planned 17-26 October on the Fox Neve but my climbing partner has
done is knee in. Is anyone looking for a climb or two over this period and
looking for a partner or a group that can take another? Happy to vary plans to
suit. Had planned for ice climbs from Pioneer hut but very happy for options on
the eastern side or down Aspiring way (face or ridge climbs).
Hi
Can anyone give me a little info on the NW ridge of Aspiring?
Is the Bonar glacier hard/easy to navigate?
I understand the Ramp is the crux of the climb, is it easy to protect, climb or
avoid?
Anything else I should know?
Thanks
Jim
Looking for (at least) one other for ski touring 5th-10th Sept. Heading down to
the Southern Alps this week but partner heading back first week in Sept and need
someone to take her place.
Very competent telemarker. Previous experience in Europe and NZ, inc traverse of
Southern Alps and other multi-day trips.
Day trips or multi-day. Not picky about location, just looking for an adventure.
Cheers,
Sam
Heading out to New Zealand in december to do a TMC with alpine guides then

i can. I am very fit and have plenty of rock climbing and bush walking
experience. Give me an email if your keen.
Looking for partner/s for the 2009-2010 Alpine season in NZ. NZ Alpine Grade
3-5. Interested in all mountains/routes, rock/ice and mixed, within this grade
bracket. From late Nov. onwards.
We are currently 3, but wish to be 4. Looking for a hardy team player to
complete a group of 4, for an August (18th - 30th) ski touring/mountaineering
trip travelling the 8 glaciers - Ice Lake --> Mawson --> Godley (Neish Plateau)
--> Dennistoun --> South Forbes (+/- D'Archiac) --> Separation --> Classen -->
Murchison --> Tasman. We may exit via Fox/Franz and the Fritz range if time and
weather permits. Advanced glacier travel, some climbing skills, and touring skis
required. Contact Darren on d.hooks@... if interested.
We're planning a ski trip on Tasman Glacier starting 15th August,
returning to Christchurch on 22nd or 23rd. It's our third NZ trip: we have
ski-mountaineering and glacier experience, but not a lot of climbing or ropes.
As well as day-trips on skis, we'd like to do 1 or 2 easy climbs in the area. If
conditions on the Tasman are poor, we can switch to Westland at short notice.
Looking for 1 or 2 others to
join us for all or part of the trip. We're happy to organise food and
transport.

Hi,
I've just moved to Wellington after traveling and climbing all around New
Zealand all summer (having come from the UK before that).
I'm looking for partners for winter/alpine climbing on the North Island
volcanoes and around the Southern Alps.
I've climbed extensively around the UK and Scotland, Norway and the European
Alps and interested in mountain routes of Grade 3 and higher and water-ice.
I've got all my own gear, a van and am not working at the moment so flexible and
able to make the most of mid-week weather windows.
Get in touch, Tim
Dear all. I am hoping to emigrate to NZ in June/August. I am a keen climber and mountaineer and was hoping to get a job near Queenstown. Christchurch may be a better option though, can you give me some ideas of what the climbing/mountaineering is like out of Christchurch? It all looks pretty good to me!
Hi All
I'm hoping to do a transalpine crossing of the main divide (eg; copeland
pass or safter alternative) during early-mid April. I'd also be open to
other transalpine routes at this time. Let me know if you're interested,
or if you are planning something similar...
Cheers
Chris

heading for Pioneer and/or Centennial Huts. Planning to climb peaks up

levels. Have all own gear & recent experience on Cook.
Hi All
I’m thinking about heading to NZ in March for some alpine trips. I
haven’t thought about which areas or routes just yet, so am just
throwing this out there to see if there’s any interest - or see if
anybody's already planning a trip.
The kind of trips I’d be wanting to do would involve glacier walking and
some alpine passes.
Cheers
Chris

I'm a 45m looking for a competant climbing partner to tackle MB's West
Ridge within the next 2 weeks (8-22Jan09) while the MB glacier is still
in condition. You will need to be comfortable on rock as well as having
had the equivalent experience of climbing several alpine routes in the
Cook area.
