We believe in government and taxation, however, we contest the manner in which our federal government is taxing us. Our federal income tax system is complicated and intrusive. It isn't transparent, it discriminates and it wastes a whole bunch of our resources which can be better spent on other endeavors.
Our federal income tax system runs contrary to our democratic and capitalistic ideals and creates enormous friction between the important and delicate relationship between us the citizen and our federal government.
However, there is Hope! And it comes in the form of The FairTax, H.R. 25 & S. 296.
The FairTax is a non-regressive, revenue neutral, national retail sales tax which will be levied on new goods and services only for personal use. The FairTax will replace all federal:
Personal Income Taxes
Corporate Income Taxes
Estate Taxes
Capital Gains Taxes
Gift Taxes
AMT
Payroll Taxes (The Medicare and social security programs will be funded via The FairTax)
