Description

The NORTHWEST TRAINMASTERS is an HO modular railroad club. We were formed in 1996 by a group of people that wanted to expand our knowledge and capabilities in model railroading. We combine two module standards, NMRA and FreeMo, to create layouts that are different that most. The layouts change shape from setup to setup, use single track stretches that require dispatcher control, and exhibit some operating methods. The club has all levels of modelers from the beginner to the experienced. Most are beginners rather than experts, at least in module building, and we are all learning together.

Our club's 'home area' is the northwest suburbs of Chicago. We typically have a general business meeting on the third Sunday of every month, starting at 2:00pm. Often, prior to the meeting invited guests or club members run a clinic on a specific topic related to model railroading.
