NORTHWEST GREENS: OUR PURPOSE ...to bring voters to an understanding of the issues affecting Northwest Philadelphia (Mount Airy, Germantown, Chestnut Hill). One problem that Philadelphia voters have is personalizing politics: votes are cast for "McCain or Obama." Unfortunately, votes are seldom cast for "the candidate who will improve SEPTA's service," or "the politician who will end the occupation of Iraq." We think the reason for this failure of our political system is that the voters are not organized to express their wishes. We would like Northwest Greens to become an organization of voters for specific Green issues.
