Hello,
My name is Wil and I am researching a company called the Dayton Coal
and Iron Co. It purchased an area called the Snake Creek Gap estates,
but I do not have any other information other than that it should be
in NW Georgia. The city of Villanow in Walker County appears to have
an area called Snake Creek Gap, but does any one know who owned it in
the 1870-1890s? Thanks yall,
Wil Wade
Dayton, Tennessee

I understand more fully now. Usually posts are removed due to spammer
activity or undesirables who join only to make trouble and I figured
that might have been the case.

Nice job you did with the roots web sites and the links. You might
even want to consider posting them in the 'Links' section. They would
make for some excellent reference for future members.

I'm going to invite a couple of other like minded friends into the
group if you don't mind.

I am the list owner and I am still here.
I cannot force anyone to post.
Only the original poster can remove posts and that is their right. The
missing posts were information from my files which I posted to try to get the
list
started.
When I received so little response, I deleted the posts and added the
material to my webpages.

First I would like to extend my gratitude for allowing me to join this
group. I am quite puzzled though by the missing posts and lack of
content especially when considering how rich NWGA's history is. I
would personally like to change all that and get this group
jump-started somewhat by sharing my own content as this list has so
   much potential.

Is there anybody still out there?
