Discussion for parent educators in the Pacific Northwest interested in the educational methods and philosophies of Charlotte Mason, a British educator from the late 1800's. Most of our list members are in the states of Washington and Oregon, but also a few in British Columbia, Canada.

The original members of this email group took part in an in-person Charlotte Mason support group that used to meet in Puyallup, Washington about fifteen years ago. Our in-person group was led by Catherine Levison, author of A Charlotte Mason Education and More Charlotte Mason Education.

Over the past few years, this email group has become very quiet. Many of the original members have moved on to other stages of life as their children have grown and either finished homeschooling, started attending high school, gone off to college, or started careers and families of their own. Yes, it will happen. One day your precious little ones will be all grown up. ;-)

If you join the Northwest Charlotte Mason group, don't worry about being overwhelmed with email. We mainly just share about activities and resources of interest to Charlotte Mason homeschoolers that are available in the local Seattle/Tacoma/Portland areas. But if you have questions, comments, concerns, or just want to chat about all things Charlotte Mason, feel free.

Also, if you're new, please jump right in and introduce yourself to the group. From time to time, conversation starts up again, but it usually takes someone new to start the ball rolling. :-)
