I have noticed that it has been slower than usual the past couple
weeks. Hasn't timed out on me yet though. I wonder if there is a
connection between the servers with GC.com & the Groundspeak forums. I
know they had to disable the search engine for the forums because the
server is maxed out. Too many people on at one time now and the servers
tend to lock up. Blu.

I don't know how many new accounts there are now but I do know that, from Dec. 26 - Dec. 29, there were 9800 new accounts created. Likely there were many more created since then. It seems a LOT of folks got a GPSr for Christmas.

And I haven't been on much in the last month. My foot is almost healed so it will probably be even slower once I start creating pocket queries and logging all the caches I hope to start finding.

for me the forum side is still quite fast..but i notice time in logging, going to caches/searches is a bit slower. and for some reason lately the maps don't load right from the cache page but will from a map it string.

Anyone having timeout problems with the site? I've been trying to retrieve a TB from a cache for quite some time and the transaction keeps timing out. Reminds me of the bad old days of a few months ago :-). Seems like the TB code is not as well optimized as the normal cache logging code?

Northstate Unusual Treasure Seekers!
Yahoo! DSL Something to write home about. Just $16.99/mo. or less
I've found cameras in a few caches where you are supposed to take a picture of yourself or your caching crew. Some have been full when I got there and some have had pictures left so, at a couple of caches, I took the picture. What happens to the pictures? Do the cache owners ever actually put them on the cache pages? The only one I've seen so far where the pictures actually got posted was on the Dastardly and Muttley cache - the picture was already posted when I went to log the cache!
Others I can think of off the top of my head were Jungle Adventure, Coleman Cache, and Candid Cache. I know I found full cameras in a couple of caches as well.
Soooooo.......... where are the pics? Shouldn't they be in the gallery page for the cache? Inquiring minds want to know!
I was out doing some cache maintance on some of my caches before the
party the 21st, and hiding a couple for the party. I notice some
caches out there need some attention?????. It would be nice to have
things current by that weekend for out of town cachers???
Thanks Mr_B for the timely reminder!! "Wet" could be problematic right now for caches with disturbed seals. And if you've ever seen a "disturbed seal"... it can be aweful... well.... WET! ;o) R&C

and when you see a line of people moving off....follow them with pen in hand of course. debra

GAH! Be careful there - that can make Tanky get cranky. Remember the last NUTS dinner where there was an entire cluster of NUTS at the cache.......
