The NoteTab Linux List (ntb-linux@yahoogroups.com) was created when running NoteTab on Linux became such a popular topic.
The purpose of this list is to collect the group knowledge of the best tips, tricks, and tweaks for running NoteTab on Linux and other non-Windows operating systems. Common topics will be Linux, Unix, Mac OSX, Wine, and emulators such as Qemu, VMWare, Xen, etc.
Please use descriptive subject lines, such as "wine - How do I?..." or "Qemu - Setting Up".
A helpful start should be to identify those issues in Wine that we want to see a solution. Workarounds, and what does not work should be collected. Such collected information should then be added to the WinHQ entry for NoteTab. This should help NoteTab get more wine-specific issues addressed by the wine development team.
Wine vs. emulators. Wine is probably a better fit for older hardware and less RAM, and is one layer. Emulators allow Windows or other Operating Systems to be installed, which then NoteTab is installed. Emulators remove the need for tweaking to get the desired functionality out of NoteTab, but require a licensed copy of Windows, and lots of RAM.
Happy NoteTabbing on wine! (Wining about NoteTab, but not whining!) ;-)
