The Norman S. Minor Bar Association is the largest organization of African-American lawyers in the state of Ohio. It was formed in 1980 by the merger of four previously existing African-American professional organizations, to wit: John Harlan Law Club; Cleveland Lawyers' Association; The Black Women Lawyers' Association; and The National Conference of Black Lawyers, Cleveland Chapter.
In its 27th year, the association boasts a membership of approximately 100 lawyers, engaged in various aspects of legal practice throughout Cuyahoga and surrounding counties, and in all state and federal courts.
