My name is Steve Wallis. I am a revolutionary socialist, currently living in Manchester (but wih plans to move about across Britain in the run-up to the general election, particularly doing activivities in Scotland, Wales and Preston).

Preston is the area of England where the left is strongest, due to having had Independent Labour and Socialist Alliance councillors elected in the past. Since it is part of the North West of England and easy to reach from Manchester by train, developing a "democratic socialsit alliance" in Preston as well as Manchester and Wales will be a pritiority.

The first activity of NW ISM will be participating in the weekly actitvity outside Marks Spencer, between 12 noon and 2-3pm on Saturdays. One of the regular attendees is a former Respect candidate (who got over 27% of the vote) but who has now resigned from Respect. Hopefully he, and some others at the picket, will br willing to hand out the NW ISM leaflets.

I regard myself as a supporter of the the leading ‘platform’ (called the ISM)of the Scottish Socialist Party (SSP), which won six seats in the Scottish Parliament on May Day 2003 (including two in Glasgow where the SSP achieved over 15% of the vote).
