Description

NorCal-Rocks is a group of rockhounds generally based in Central and Northern California who enjoy sharing information on their hobby and going on field trips. Discussions involve gem, mineral, lapidary, and fossil collecting sites and the coordination of field trips.

Membership in the list discussions is open to anyone. Participation in some of the field trips might require that you be a member of an accredited rock club.

Janet, I believe that is geologically the wrong setting to find whale bone but there is plenty of petrified wood in the volcanic setting in which you live.
