This group is for those who can see at least some valid objectives on both sides of life and death issues like capital punishment, war, and abortion. Supporting both objectives might some day be possible if we get behind research and development of nonlethal alternatives. Necessary technologies may be years away, but people in the future will need nonlethal means of solving their problems as much as we do today.

You should feel welcome here if you:
* Agree that women should have the right to terminate unwanted pregnancies; but also agree that the unborn should have the right to become whoever they can become. If so, let's discuss developing nonlethal methods of terminating unwanted pregnancies (perhaps even using cryogenics where possible to delay births until mothers are ready to raise a child or put it up for adoption).
* Agree that we have the right to repel foreign invaders and capture terrorists; but also agree that we must avoid killing innocent people in other countries. If so, let's discuss developing nonlethal weapons for military use.
* Agree that we should not risk executing innocent people; but also agree that we need to prevent dangerous people from endangering us by keeping them in a prison system that is affordable. If so, let's discuss developing a prison system where inmates can actually pay for crimes to the extent possible, rather than suffer or die at public expense.
