New Jersey Blues Rocker Mike Burro returns for two shows in July and August
New Jersey's journeyman blues rocker, Mike Burro will play shows in Ewing and
Pitman.
Trenton, NJ, July 06, 2009 --(PR.com)-- Mike Burro will perform at two notable
New Jersey stages in July and August.
The first show takes place July 18th at 'The All Call Inn' in Ewing.
Situated close to several learning institutions, including Trenton State,
Ryder University and Mercer County College, the 'All Call', has been drawing
young audiences from the entire area including Pennsylvania. A number of up and
coming artists have been performing there, and the venue boasts a
'new stage', drinks and food specials. On the evening that Burro will play,
there will be four acts and admission is only five dollars; certainly an
affordable entertainment option in tough economic times.
The second show will take place on August 14th, at 'The Bus Stop Music Cafe' in
Pitman. This unique venue offers not only food and BYOB, but is also a fully
functioning record store specializing in rare and hard to find vinyl and cds.
Perhaps for this reason, the show there will also feature 'Stewkey' Antoni of
the legendary Philly psych-pop band NAZZ.
Nazz was formed by Stewkey, Todd Rundgren, Thom Mooney and Carson Van Olsen in
1967, and rode a short wave of fame and critical acclaim which had them opening
for The Doors, performing at major festivals, recording in The UK, and cranking
out three classic albums. Their tunes, 'Hello it's Me', and 'Open Me Eyes' are
probably the most well known.
Mike & Stewkey have been performing together since January 2004, when they
organized the 'New York Greg Ridley Memorial Concert' to honor the fallen bass
player of 'Humble Pie'. Stewkey will be available to sign LPS, singles and CDS
and to answer questions. Mike will also sign cds and discuss the many fine
players he has rubbed elbows with, including Hawkwind, Nik Turner, Harvey
Bainbridge, The Downliners Sect, and more. Burro appears on the 2003 release
entitled 'Hawkfest 2002' ( Voiceprint UK ), which chronicled Hawkwind's first
ever private festival in Devon, England. In addition he also appears ( as
Sloterdijk ), on the 2004 Hawkwind tribute disc, 'Daze of The Underground'
( Godreah UK ), and has released several discs of his own.
