Welcome to the Nixa Amateur Radio Club Yahoo Group.

The purposes of this club include the following:

1. Establishing and maintaining an emergency backup communications repeater system for use by the Nixa Police and Fire Departments in the case of their system failing.

2. Fostering emergency preparedness among amateur radio operators in Southwest Missouri by establishing and maintaining an amateur radio repeater for use in the Skywarn spotting network for the National Weather Service as well as cooperative emergency preparedness efforts with local, state and federal emergency service and disaster agencies.

3. Providing amateur radio operators in Southwest Missouri with opportunities for fellowship, education, training, operating, and contesting.

4. Encouragement and improvement of the amateur service through rules which provide for advancing skills in both the communications and technical phases of the art.

5. Expansion of the existing reservoir within the amateur radio service of trained operators, technicians and electronics experts.

6. Performance of actions not inconsistent with applicable law in furtherance of the foregoing or incidental thereto.

7. Exercise of any powers authorized to not for profit organizations by the laws of the State of Missouri.

We are an ARRL Special Service Club.

We operate a two-meter repeater on 145.270-, a 440 repeater on 444.275+ and a six-meter repeater on 53.270-, a 220 repeater on 224.280-, a 900 repeater on 927.5375-. All five have a PL tone of 162.2Hz.

The Nixa Amateur Radio Club monthly meetings are held on the second Saturday of every month at 6:00 p.m. Meetings are at the Nixa Fire Department District Headquarters, 301 S. Nicholas Rd., Nixa, Missouri. Everyone is welcome to attend!
