This egroup is a free community service which allows those in Niles, CA to post announcements, questions, and general items related to Niles. Members may post occasional non-Niles related questions, but may NOT post general FYI items with no association to Niles.

This group is moderated: emails posted to the group are sent out as approved. Note that a digest version of this group is available.

Specifically NOT allowed on this egroup are political campaigning, discussion or debate (but OK to announce an upcoming City Council meeting, candidates forum, etc.) and solicitations: NO selling or promoting goods/services of any sort or soliciting contributions with TWO EXCEPTIONS: First, Niles-based non-profit organizations may occasionally post messages promoting their upcoming events, requesting items for donation, etc.

Secondly, the "no solicitation" rule does not exclude individuals from making localized personal posts such as yard sales notices or responses to requests for contractor recommendations or queries about general information.

It is okay to announce items for sale, provided: it is not a commercial business (okay to sell your car, but not for a car-dealer to do so) and you invite interested parties to contact you personally for details. Please, no jokes, urban legends or other similar items.

It is never acceptable to personally attack ("flame") another person or to engage in libelous communication. Be as courteous to your neighbors on-line as you would be in person.
