The NIAGARA PALESTINIAN ASSOCIATION list was founded in 2000 in St Catharines, Ontario to represent the political & cultural concerns of Palestinian Canadians & friends in the greater Niagara Region of Ontario,Canada. It now serves as a CANADA WIDE NEWS LIST.

NPA or niag_pal_news is an independent organization - however we work with all groups who share mutual concerns. We are members of the Canadian Arab Federation & Niagara Coalition for Peace. We are founding members of NIDAH: Building a National Voice for Palestinian Canadians, now re-named the Palestinian Canadian Congress (PCC) http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Nidah/. We work with many affinity groups, such as student & activist groups, faith groups, MCCO, Independent Jewish Voices Canada. Each group has its own focus - but we all come together united for Palestinian human rights.

The NIAGARA PALESTINIAN ASSOCIATION has hosted many successful events: marches; speakers; Boycott Divestment & Sanctions pickets; youth led workshops; youth mentorship; campus mobilizing & campaigns; "History of Palestine", "Eyewitness Report on Palestine", "israeli Apartheid Week" panels at Brock University & downtown; films; articles & letters published in local & national media; lobbying of politicians; formal complaints against Ontario police trip to israel; advocacy & referral for Palestinian refugees & immigrants (including Al-Hol); summer Potluck Picnics...

The Niagara Palestinian Association supported the "Restore the Good Name of Susan Howard-Azzeh Campaign" a slander & libel lawsuit against the St. Catharines Standard. The newspaper portrayed Susan & marchers as "anti-Semites" & "holocaust deniers" after a peaceful "End the Occupation" rally. Unfortunately, after spending $31,000 we ran out of money & were not able to continue to trial as desired.
