EDITOR'S COMMENT:

We've run many articles on the dubious organization(s) and shady adventures
of the Reverend Sun Myung Moon. Steven Hasssan, of Freedom of Mind
(http://www.freedomofmind.com), also keeps a close eye on Reverend Moon (and
many other organizations that use similar tactics spreading their message
and attracting unsuspecting converts). Yesterday Hasssan alerted his mailing
list to Moon's activities in China. He also included a few important links
to other Moon-watch resources...

MOON IN CHINA/ NY TIMES/ BUSH
By Steven Hasssan

In today's New York Times (9/12/00), Elisabeth Rosenthal wrote a story,
"Group Founded by Sun Myung Moon Preaches Sexual Abstinence in China." The
Moonies have traveled to virtually every province in China through their
International Educational Foundation. They teach "free" workshops and
seminars preaching sexual abstinence before marriage. Of course, they
probably don't mention that Moon thinks that all marriages are evil, except
those "blessed" by him. The full story is online at:

http://www.nytimes.com/2000/09/12/world/12CHIN.html

Many people forget that the Moon empire seeks to influence the world and set
up a one world theocracy under Sun Myung Moon. It is a laughable
proposition, except when you consider he has spent over one billion dollars
on his newspaper the Washington Times, not to mention his other extensive
holdings.

Please look at:

http://www.freedomofmind.com/groups/moonies/moonfronts.htm

and you will see 39 pages, single spaced, of Moon entities. The Moonies have
lost many American members since the publication of Nansook Hong's book, "In
the Shadow of the Moons"
(http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0316348163/newheavenneweart), came
out and revealed the corruption within the Moon family. In October of 1999,
Moon's 21 year old son, Youngjin Moon committed suicide by jumping out of a
Reno, Nevada hotel window. For coroner's report, see:

http://www.freedomofmind.com/images/youngjin_death_of.jpg

The suicide of one of the"messiah's" children -- supposedly a sinless man of
God -- went virtually unreported in the media.

I continue to get emails from individuals who have suffered because of their
involvement in the Moonies. Some have left the cult twenty years ago and are
still suffering long term effects. These people have never had proper
counseling, and have never been able to find out the facts until now. The
internet is bringing this vital information to people. We have scanned and
put online the entire 80 pages of the 1977-78 congressional investigation
into KCIA activities in the U.S. which specifically deals with the Moonies.
The final report was some 400 pages. We have this report on line at:

http://www.freedomofmind.com/groups/moonies/fraserport.htm

It is a must read for anyone who wants to have a good understanding of what
the Moonies are about.

It is interesting to note that George Bush, Sr. was head of the C.I.A.
during this congressional investigation. According to Robert Boettcher, head
of staff for the investigation, the C.I.A. did everything possible to be
uncooperative with this inquiry. Later Bush Sr. became President and
publicly endorsed the Washington Times. After his term in office, Bush did a
number of speaking engagements for the Moon organization and reportedly
received two million dollars. Bush spoke in Japan, amidst protests from the
Japanese who were angry that the Moonies had perpetrated the largest
consumer fraud in their history doing their "spiritual sales." Widows would
be guilt-tripped into paying large sums of money to "liberate" their dead
spouse from low levels in the "spirit world." There were reportedly over
40,000 victims of this fraud. Later, Bush reportedly went to Argentina to
promote a Spanish newspaper of Moon and upset the Argentinian President who
didn't want to offend Bush but wanted nothing to do with Moon.

Several months ago, (before the opening up of North Korea/ South Korea
relations) I brought a package of material to my congressman, Barney Frank.
It offered substantial evidence of Moon doing business with North Korea. I
was under the impression that Moon, a convicted felon, was in violation of
the "enemies" act. Frank sent the package to the Justice Department and I
have heard nothing. I am pleased that relations with North Korea have
improved greatly in past months, but very disturbed that Moon is in any way
involved.

Moon in China. Moon in North Korea. Moon running a newspaper which supports
George Bush Jr. for President. Very disturbing.
