Forwarded from Steve:
*/Hello Dancers,/*
*/
/*
*We're sorry to do this, but given the icy weather and worsening
forecast, the distance that the musicians and some dancers need to
travel, and the likely small turn-out, we've made the difficult decision
to cancel tonight's dance. Please help us spread the word by contacting
any friends you think might be planning to go.*
Sorry to those we've disappointed!
*Enjoy a cozy evening!*
Steve & Bettie

Department of Planning Ahead:
For many in northern New England, one of the highlights of the dancing
calendar
is the annual Ralph Page Dance Legacy Weekend at UNH in Durham.
This year, the primary callers are Tony Parkes and Lisa Greenleaf,
with music
provided by the Latter Day Lizards (Peter Barnes, Dave Langford, and
Bill
Tomczak) and Old New England (Bob McQuillen on piano, joined by Jane
Orzechowski
and Deanna Stiles).
They will be joined by the White Cockade for Friday night's dance, and
a special
Retrospective session on Saturday led by Sylvia Miskoe and Marcie Van
Cleave,
remembering dance leader Marianne Taylor.
The weekend is filled with excellent music, great callers, and
friendly dancers.
The dates for this year's event, the 23rd annual, are January 15-17,
2010, the
weekend lelading up to the Martin Luther King Day
You can find all the information you need, and a registration form, on
the
website:
http://www.nhcountrydance.com/music/rpdlw.html
If you've never been a full-time attendee at the weekend, you're
eligible for a
first-timer's discount, and there is also scholarship assistance
available.
If you're looking to stay at the New England Center, the comfortable
hotel a
short walk from the dance hall, it's best to make your reservation
quickly.
Space is limited! The NEC is offering a special room rate for our
event, so ask
about that when you contact them.
