The much anticipated NFARL Antenna SIG will kickoff at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 30 at a convenient location in the Alpharetta /
Have you always wanted to know HOW antennas work? Do you want to know why some antennas WORK WELL and others don't? Do you want to know how to pick the BEST antenna for your needs? Do you want to EVALUATE the wire antennas you are now using? Would you like to DESIGN and BUILD your own antennas? If you answered YES to at least one or two of these, the Antenna SIG could be for you.
You don't need an EE degree to participate. All you need is a keen interest, a desire to learn, a willingness to do some guided in-depth study and the ability to participate in weekly meetings.
The SIG will meet face-to-face once a month on Saturday mornings at a convenient metro-north location. We will review the self-study topics from the previous month, answer questions and do numerous hands-on antenna experiments to help cement the leaning experience.
We will also conduct weekly nets to pose and answer questions about the self-study assignments. These nets will be held at 8:30 on Thursday evenings on the 145.47 repeater.
An all-star instructor team headed by Jim, K4DLI, and Roger, AA2HT, along with guest instructor Dave (Dr. Loop), W0MHS, will lead the sessions.
