Välkommen to the Chat group for New Sweden Cultural Heritage Society of Oregon & Washington!

You can choose three ways to participate with this group:

1)You can receive individual emails for each posted message to the chat group

2)You can receive a daily digest email of all the messages posted for that day

3)You can log onto the Chat group at this link: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/newsweden to read and post messages when you have the time (and not receive any emails).

E-mails that you receive from the group can be replied to directly. When you reply to a E-mail from the group this message will automatically be sent to all members of the group (who subscibe to email). The message will also be posted to the New Sweden chat group site (where you are right now).

We are hoping this chat group will help to bring together New Sweden members in a new way and also interest those who are curious about New Sweden and its objectives.

Here are some of New Sweden's Objectives

To bring into a cooperative relationship all groups and individuals whose purpose is to promote knowledge and understanding of Swedish heritage in American life.

To strengthen cultural ties between America and Sweden.

To foster historical research on Swedish settlement in America and to publish and distribute appropriate materials.

To encourage and sponsor presentations on topics of general interest relating to the Scandinavian community.

To facilitate the study of family history through the Scandinavian Genealogical Society.
