North East Wisconsin Free-mo is a group of model railroaders located in the northeastern part of Wisconsin and centered around the Menasha Wisconsin area. The group consists of model railroaders that are interested in prototypical modeling using the Free-mo modular concept to build, assemble and operate a model railroad. The Wisconsin Central, Soo Line, Milwaukee Road and Chicago Northwestern of all eras are emphasized with mid-west scenes to be featured on the Free-mo layout.
Free-mo is a great modular concept designed to allow the assembly of a point to point model railroad that features single and double track mainlines and branch line operations to industrial areas. When connected with other modeler’s modules, a fully operational and realistic model railroad is created.
Membership is open to all who are interested in modular model railroading built to HO scale and Free-mo standards. We are not a club in the traditional sense. There are no dues and no elected club officers! We exist as a group to model and run railroads on Wisconsin tracks.
All membership requests do require approval by the moderators. The first few posts by a new member will be moderated so don't fret if your post takes a little time before it shows up on the list.
