Welcome everyone! 'New Mexico Rockhounding' was created for the rockhound in all of us. It's intended for anyone interested in geology and other issues concerning the earth sciences. This group also covers topics such as: rock & mineral collecting, mineral identification, gemstones, fossils, meteorites, mining, gold panning, metal detecting, prospecting, geocaching, lapidary, and any other related issues. Please feel free to exchange any information with other group members so that we can expand our education and collecting interests. New Mexico is absolutely beautiful, and those who call it home are especially fortunate to be in the most geologically blessed region of the United States. I hope everyone has a gneiss time.
