MOVING AHEAD – OPPORTUNITIES
WON’T YOU PLEASE HELP? Information wanted on NRM Textbooks/ Curriculums/ Faculty/ Universities for Sub Sahara
Africa - Nicholas Ngece writes, “We are conducting a research survey whose findings will be used to develop a Manual/Textbook for Graduate NRM students (MA and MSC); specific for Sub Saharan Africa. The book will have case studies from the region, and will be different from others that are being used, because it will be localized. We thought you might be an important contact for this exercise due to your in-depth experience in this sector, and your knowledge of persons and institutions engaged in NRM related teaching at graduate and undergraduate level. To collect as much information as possible, I have been tasked with running an urgent survey of Natural Resource Management Faculty (Lecturers) and Universities teaching NRM at Undergraduate and Graduate Level in Eastern Central andSouthern Africa . This includes countries ofSouth Africa ,Lesotho ,Swaziland ,Namibia ,Botswana ,Zimbabwe ,Mozambique ,Zambia ,Angola ,Malawi ,Tanzania ,Rwanda ,Burundi ,Uganda and. Individuals from other regions but who have great experience in Kenya Africa could also be recommended. I am also looking for leads to how to access curriculums from institutes teaching NRM at graduate level. As such, I will appreciate any information that can help me come up with a list for faculty and a list of institutions offering NRM related degrees. This information will be used during a book/manual writing process for MSC and MA students in NRM being undertaken by an international training and capacity building organization based in. I am looking for contact information (Tel, Email) and where applicable websites of individuals (faculty and NRM practitioners) and institutions such as universities and research organizations. Please forward any information to my email. I will be able to follow-up with these contacts once sent to me.” You may contact Nicholas at mwitingece@.... Nicholas also has two questionnaires he would like you to help with. One is for faculty/practitioners and the other for NRM graduate students. If you would like to participate, please email Nicholas accordingly. Kenya FEEDBACK- In May, Robert Ddamulira sought information on Agroforestry Landscaping. Here is Part 2 of 2 of some sites that may be of interest. If you know of others, please contact Robert at jermain_dr2002@...
