Description

The Preservation Resource Center's Neighborhood Council is an organization of neighborhood associations in New Orleans, which provides an opportunity for individuals and organizations to be more actively and effectively involved in neighborhood preservation, planning and zoning by coordinating and combining resources.

This email group is a distribution group as opposed to a discussion group. PRC uses this forum to distribute meeting notices, meeting agendas, information about PRC events, advocacy requests and alike. PRC's discussion group, Preserve New Orleans, can be accessed through Yahoo eGroups by visiting http://groups.yahoo.com/group/preserveneworleans/.

Our mission: To promote the preservation, restoration and revitalization of the historic neighborhoods and architecture of New Orleans.

Who we are: Founded in 1974, Preservation Resource Center (PRC) is a non-profit membership organization committed to improving the livability of New Orleans through historic preservation programs and services. PRC membership is open to all, and we have over 4,500 members from all over the U.S. and the world!

In 1980, PRC completed renovation on its 1832 Julia Row townhouse at 604 Julia Street, rescuing this architectural gem from major deterioration and serving as a catalyst for further revitalization in the area. The PRC programs, Operation Comeback and Rebuilding Together, originally operated from offices at 1504 Magazine Street. Today, all of our offices are located in the Leeds-Davis Building (pictured), 923 Tchoupitoulas St. in the Warehouse District.

For additional information on the PRC, visit our post-Katrina website at www.preserveneworleans.org as we reinstate our primary site, www.prcno.org.
