Wheelchair perspective

bruce budden To: nde@yahoogroups.com  July 02, 2009 [nde] BOOK STUDY #33

Hey Linda.....

I was wondering,  do you perceive your role to change when Ed is pushing you around in a chair?

Dear Bruce,
Nope.  However, I do notice other people changing.  Normally, I go around the store and nobody notices me unless I say "Hi", which I do if our eyes meet.  However, in the wheelchair - almost everyone looks.  It's like for a brief moment they wake up and really become aware of another person who reminds them of their own frailty.
With love,
Linda
