Special woods do come our way and they certainly deserve special
attention.
If you were to ask me I would advise as follows:
Don't go to unchartered waters with special woods. Do your figuring on a
piece of wood that is less relevant.
The rules change when going with bigger bores and it would be a shame to
mess up the purple heart with poorly positioned fingerholes.
