UU is GREAT for me of course.  :-D

But neither of those weekends work... :-(

The 24th, 25th weekend is the Country Music Marathon and my High School Class Reunion so that it completely out for me.

And the weekend before that is my mother-in-law's 70th birthday and my husband's High School Class Reunion so will be in Birmingham that weekend.

Might have to do April without me.

Sundays are usually better for me, but I could probably also do it on a Saturday afternoon this month.  The UU church was very convenient for me. Plaza would probably only be available on a Sunday, but I could contact the manager if people would rather  meet there.

Just let me know,

I wanted to report that teaching origami at the 2nd annual Nashville
Origami Festival was quite a success. There was a pretty much
constant stream of interested people throughout the day. I would like
to thank Joelle, Elizabeth, and Gregg for helping make it happen. I
had a lot of fun and I hope you guys did too.

There were quite a few people who signed up as interested in the club,
so hopefully we will get a few of them to excited enough to come to
some meetings. This was probably the best possible venue in which to
promote the group.

I would like to aim for our next meeting to be in mid to late April.
I'm thinking the 17th, 18th, 24th, or 25th. Do you guys have any
preference for which date(s) and locations? I can work on getting a
meeting room at the UU church again if I know which date, but
Elizabeth has also suggested meeting in one of the classrooms at Plaza
and I believe that is also worth looking in to.

In upcoming events, I am teaching origami at the Inglewood Library on
the morning of the 24th, if any of you are interested in joining me
for that. I am also teaching at the Madison library on the 15th.

thanks,
malachi

If you're worried that you don't have any interests, browse in the nonfiction section of a library for five minutes. By then a book will catch your eye, whether it's about baking pie crusts or Icelandic crust formation. Submitted by: Carolyn Lloyd, 15-year-old student, Montreal, Quebec, Canada

I am open to it, but I probably can't do anything on the 6th.

Are we talking a panel/class or two or something else?

I had planned to organize an origami club meeting in May, but the
weather and life seem to conspire against me, so June may be the next
choice. I was thinking, however, that we should probably pick a
regular time each month, like the third Sunday, to set as our regular
meeting time.

What are your thoughts on that? What would be a good day/time to set?

thanks,
malachi

In general, I think picking a date is fine, but the ideal would be to pick one
with as few holiday interferences as possible.

Now that summer has arrived, I can make all the meetings.

Alas, the 3rd Sunday in June is Father's Day. I'm only going to be out of town
one weekend in June and that would be the one.

So I'd have to vote for the 2nd Sunday :^)

However, if I'm out voted, I'll see you in July. Or Hypericon.

Okay, I believe the consensus is that, generally, having meetings on
the third Sunday of the month will work. I realize this month that
will coincide with father's day, and there will be other conflicts
during the dear, but we can deal with those on an ad hoc basis. I'm
willing to deal with meeting on father's day this year.

I will work on arranging the meeting place at the UU church again.

malachi

Doing origami and eating aren't really compatible activities for me, but I'll go along with the majority.

I'm hoping to learn a new box or two. Would you mind bringing your Tomoko Fuse book on boxes, Malachi?
