Napa-Solano Audubon Society is Chapter C-28 of the National Audubon Society. Our area covers all of Napa and Solano Counties (California) which are located north and northeast of San Francisco Bay. The two county area is known for it wide diversity of natural habitat including tidal salt and fresh water marshes, vernal pools, grasslands dotted with valley oaks, chaparral foothills with live oak, chamise, and manzanita, riparian corridors with willows and Fremont cottonwoods, mixed broad-leafed and conifer forests, and redwoods. In addition over 50,000 acres are cultivated vineyards.

The Vision of Napa-Solano Audubon Society is to be the best birding and conservation organization that focuses on Napa and Solano counties. We actively support local birding, local conservation education and advocacy, and local birding science. We recently completed the Napa County Breeding Bird Atlas. The Solano County Breeding Bird Atlas project begins in January 2005.
