Jack,

The only sure way to augment that connection is to solder a very fine wire
jumper across the "rail joiner". I would use wire in the range of #28 - #32, to
keep the ugliness of the solder joint down. However, you can avoid the ugly
surface solder issue by running the jumper underneath and scraping away a couple
of ties to solder to the underside of the two rail sections.

Magnet wire would probably be the best choice. At very small gauges it is very flexible and at N Scale currents it should be adequate. Ken Harstine Holyoke,...
