Mythicist Discussion explores issues related to Jesus mythicism, the thesis that Jesus of Nazareth did not exist as an historical figure. The list addresses the consequences of that position and seeks to explain Christian origins from such a perspective, quite radical in our time.

To join this list it is necessary to at least be skeptical regarding traditional views of Jesus and to be sympathetic towards the mythicist perspective that there was no “Jesus of Nazareth” at all. It is not necessary to be a convinced Jesus mythicist. However, discussion attacking the mythicist position will not be tolerated.

Some familiarity with the mythicist perspective is assumed.
