Salaam 'Alaikum Welcome to IMRA's discussion list!
Afghanistan. Palestine. Iran. Saudi Arabia.
The focus of IMRA: International Muslima Rights Association is to discuss women's rights in Islam, and to investigate how these are these rights violated in various cultures, by gov'ts, the UN, or pre-Islamic value systems. IMRA advocates for Muslim women through loosely coordinated "guerilla letter writing campaigns," papers, and other actions.
We view Islam as the ultimate liberation, and our purpose is to promote dialogue and seek action to liberate Muslim women and men from oppression and jahiliya without calling upon them to abandon Islam.
Muslima Rights is the e-mail group for members of IMRA. You can join IMRA by joining this list. Subscribers will be sent four files outlining the rules of this list (posting, etc) and of IMRA. It's okay if your interest is simply limited to reading action alerts and discussing things on e-mail. Members may be as active as their lives allow them to be.
This list is open to women and men, Muslim and non-Muslim. Please read the files you receive carefully, in order to decide if this group and our philosophy are for you. Thanks!
