Description

A newsgroup/discussion group for anyone and everyone of a phil-Hellenic disposition. News, questions, issues, preoccupations, and just idle thoughts and chat about anything relating to Greece and Greek culture and society - ancient, Byzantine or modern.

No specialist background or knowledge is assumed: this is a newsgroup for anyone who enjoys things Greek and would like to receive, and share, occasional items about Greece.

You won't be exposing your mailbox to anything terrible - all posts are moderated and carefully screened before being sent out.

Please feel free to pass on word of this group to anyone you think may be interested. We welcome new members.

[Philhellenika is moderated by Anthony Bulloch, Professor of Classics at the University of California, Berkeley. Any member of the group may post contributions freely to the list so long as they are in keeping with the purpose and spirit of the group and are of a non-commercial nature. All posts are moderated before being sent out.]
